Join the Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity inc, December 2nd as we have a discussion centered around sexual assault and prevention with prosecutor and GE initiate Kene. Kenechukwu (“Kene”) Okocha received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004 and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2007. Following law school, Kene worked as a fellow for the non-profit civil rights organization the Greenlining Institute in Berkeley, CA. After his fellowship, Kene worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Dane County. Kene joined the United State's Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia (USAO-DC) in 2011 and has served primarily in the S*x Offense and Domestic Violence (SODV) Section as an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA). In March 2019 he became a Supervisory AUSA, working as a Deputy Chief also in the SODV section. Kene has served on the executive board of the DC Chapter of the National Black Prosecutors Association, as a member of the Department of Justice Association of Black Attorneys (DOJABA), and is the President of the Non-Resident Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Wisconsin. He is additionally a proud Alumni member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated (initiated in the Gamma Epsilon chapter of UW-Madison), the National Association of the Advancement of Colored People, and the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys. In his free time Kene enjoys reading, playing and watching sports, spending time with his wife and two children, and thinking about the best reforms to the criminal justice system.
