NIPD/NJ celebrated it's annual staff appreciate day at the end of October. This important day each year recognizes all of the hard work our staff do each and every day with the people we support! This year's theme was through the decades and staff enjoyed time spent with one another and a day filled with prizes, games, and food! Staff also took the theme to heart this year and dressed for the decade of their choosing!
In short, Thank you for all you do!!
Special Congrats to all those celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years!!!!!

The people we support, their families, staff members and their families, all came together recently on September 27th for NIPD/NJ's annual family picnic! Everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather, food, music and each other's company!

"As this week is recognized as National DSP Appreciation week, I just want to take a moment to thank all the DSP's, Supervisors, Assistant Supervisors, Facilitators, Job Coaches, Support Coordinators, Administrative staff and the entire Supports team for everything you do to make NIPD-NJ a great agency. Your commitment and dedication to the field and the agency have a tremendous impact on the people we support and their families. Whether it is in one of the agency's group homes, prevocational programs, vocational programs, respite services or through support coordination, your efforts make so many lives that much better. That is why we do what we do. Thank you!"

Community providers support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) with a broad array of services from building skills in the home, such as eating, dressing, and personal hygiene, to career planning and employment supports to find and maintain jobs. These community-based services are funded almost exclusively through Medicaid. Congressional leaders are discussing proposals that could significantly reduce Medicaid funding. These cuts would have devastating consequences for people with I/DD. Take action today against proposed Medicaid cuts: ancor.org/amplifier.

The people we support enjoyed a fun bowling night out! All of the houses got to mingle with one another and some got to see each other for the first time in a while! Everyone had a blast bowling the night away!

Residents at the Teaneck GH really got into the Halloween Spirit this year! From Cheerleaders to Freddy Kreuger himself they made sure to celebrate with a bang!
