With SNAP benefits not being replenished as of Nov 1. Let's come together as a community to help those who will be affected. If you are able to help, consider donating the staples such as, flour, sugar, beans, oil, pasta, rice, and any nonperishable items to local food pantries. Some suggested places to donate: Sterling House (2283 Main Street), South End Community Center (19 Bates Street), St. James Church (2070 Main Street), YMCA (outdoor pantry and refrigerator, 3045 Main Street), all located in Stratford. Thank you!

Our seniors are prone to UTI’s know your symptoms:

Needing to urinate more frequently, pain or burning sensation, new incontinence or wetting, changes in behavior, low grade fever. If you are showing any of these signs, make a appoint with doctor. Early detection is the key to prevent an unwanted visit to the emergency room.

We need your help please see link below:

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has proposed a $1.135 billion cut to Medicare home health payments for calendar year 2026. This cut would come on top of three consecutive years of reductions, threatening access to care for millions of Americans nationwide. Home health agencies are already closing doors or shrinking their coverage areas, leaving fewer care options for families for their loved ones, with hospitals struggling to discharge patients in need of this vital benefit.

To protect access to care, in partnership with the National Alliance for Care at Home, we have prepared a letter to Congressional leadership urging them to oppose these harmful cuts. Stakeholder organizations such as associations, health systems, chambers of commerce, specialty societies, and other industry trade groups that represent provider, patient, or community interests at the state or national level are invited to sign on in support of this letter.

Ø Sign-On Form https://nhpco1.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_d4sdaHjq6zzwtw2: Stop CY 2026 Home Health Payment Cuts – Organization Sign-On Form
Ø Target Deadline: Wednesday, October 22, 5:00 p.m. ET

Your support will be critical to stopping these cuts and protecting access to home health care.
