Lori’s Daughter Inc. was born from love, loss, and legacy.

On December 20, 2009, my mother, Lori L. Williams, transitioned. Doctors said it was HIV complications. I believe it was a broken heart.

Her absence became my purpose. In 2011 I created Lori’s Daughter, not just to honor her but to build a space where healing could live.

We serve Black women, mothers, and daughters affected by HIV/AIDS, and we speak to the parts of our community that are too often silenced — the pain, the stigma, the mental health struggles, the generational trauma.

This is not just a nonprofit. It’s a movement.

A place where we turn grief into advocacy, silence into education, and survival into community care.

We center the mother-daughter bond, the urgency of healing, and the truth that Black women deserve to be seen, protected, and supported — in every room, on every level.

Lori’s Daughter is for those who’ve lost, for those who are still fighting, and for the next generation of girls learning how to hold space for both pain and power.

Lori's Daughter is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2011. Lori's Daughter mission is to service victims and their families in the HIV/AIDS population. God thought it was fitting of my mother, Lori L. Williams, to be promoted to guardian angel on December 20th, 2009. Doctors would say her cause of death resulted from HIV complications, but I believe it was from a broken heart. Her departure from this world motivated me to "Never turn the other cheek." Lori's Daughter is beyond a legacy for me, it is my why.

A lot of time and effort goes into any interning/volunteering, there is always work that can be done. If you are smart by now you have learned, life myself, the ultimate success lifehack “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, grow together.”

There is no special expertise required, and you do not have to have a degree. We are looking for independently motivated, innovative, fun loving and caring individuals to assist us with day to day operations of Lori’s Daughter.

If you believe that what you have to give is what's missing from the world, within our servicing population. We need you.
