REPRESENTATION // Happy Lunar New Year, ‘Ōlelo Hawai’i Month, and Black History Month 🤍 Such a big month with such significant celebrations for fellow BIPOC communities. Today feels like the right time to introduce another “R” that we hold close to our hearts as our Highest Good journey continues on. You’ve seen us often talk about rituals, roots, and reparations. Today we’re introducing: Representation.
Highest Good Hawai’i is a BIPOC owned and operated organization that holds space for healing and spiritual exploration. We believe BIPOC encounter specific challenges on their healing journeys, including but not limited to histories of colonization, racism, intergenerational trauma, etc. For these reasons and more we feel that it’s to provide representation of BIPOC within “the space.” Visibility is valuable. Period.
That said, this month in alignment with Black History Month, we will be featuring some of our favorite Black creators and teachers on our story. If you don’t know them yet, trust us, you want to. We hope that you find perspective, inspiration and maybe a little new wisdom in the meantime!
xx HG
