Takashi got ahold of my phone and took this video. After talking with a friend ( ) I decided it was a conversation worth having with Kai since he’s 8. We are lucky enough to live in a community where he notices color(we live in a community of mostly black and Hispanic retired military), but doesn’t put worth attached to it. My goal, all our goals should be, to teach them that all people are worthy and valuable. That color should never be a determining factor in wealth, health, and rights. I may not be the one changing laws and marching in rallies, but I’ll be damned if I don’t send two children into a future not understanding what needs to be fixed in our society. They will value ALL people.
