Laura Briggs, LMT, HHP, MH

Laura Briggs, LMT, HHP, MH I'm a Kriya Massage Therapist, licensed in NH, a Holistic Health Practitioner and a Master Herbalist. Growing food has always been a part of my life.

I am also an avid gardener, passionate home chef, and dedicated to nurturing health and wellness. I’m a Kriya Massage Therapist, Master Herbalist, and Holistic Health Practitioner. As I sought healthier alternatives for my young family, I naturally gravitated towards learning about herbs. This passion led me to complete a Master Herbalist program in 2006, followed by a Holistic Health Practitioner program in 2008 at the Global College of Natural Medicine, where I studied nutrition, herbal healing, aromatherapy, and other alternative modalities for whole health. Today, I not only grow our food but also cultivate and wild harvest over 100 types of herbs, focusing on immune support, wound care, and culinary uses. I spend almost as much time in my kitchen as in my gardens. In 2020, I built a raised bed kitchen garden with a hoop house to extend the growing season, making it easy to add freshly cut herbs to whatever I’m cooking. I’ve also started a cottage garden for vegetables and some fruit, and my next project is creating a protected space for new fruit trees and bushes that are safe from wildlife. In 2009, while working as a receptionist at DoveStar Institute, I was exposed to various classes, including massage therapy. It began with just three Kriya Massage classes, but the more I learned and experienced massage, the more passionate I became about it. I was amazed by the difference I felt in my own body and the relief from the aches and pains I had grown accustomed to. This inspired me to continue a path where I could help others achieve that same level of healing. Since acquiring my massage license, I have continued my education by focusing on releasing muscles deep within the body, working with fascia, and finding ways to alleviate chronic pain and improve overall mobility. I am dedicated to facilitating the innate healing ability of each of my clients and plan to continue learning advanced techniques to perpetuate that process. My mission is to help improve my clients’ health and enhance their overall well-being.

Our muscles, bones and organs are held together by a network of tissue that influences our every move. Is there a way we can use it to our advantage?

“What am I doing that makes my hip hurt so much?”
“Why aren’t my trouble spots getting better — even with regular massage?”
“I didn’t know massage could help with things like sciatica, whiplash, or frozen shoulder.”
I hear questions like these from clients every week — and if you’ve wondered the same, you’re not alone.
That’s exactly why I created the Rooted in Wellness blog — to answer real questions with real insight. I write about common patterns, explain what might be happening beneath the surface, and offer ways to start feeling better — beyond the massage table.
Have you checked it out yet? You might find the answer you’ve been looking for.

A recent craniosacral therapy course deepened my appreciation for how the body responds to gentle, intentional work. Sometimes the lightest touch invites the deepest release, restoring balance, calm, and connection in ways that still amaze me. This gentle work continues to show how powerful the body’s natural ability to realign itself can be.

I am excited as I integrate this into my bodywork sessions!

A recent craniosacral therapy course reminded me that the body doesn’t always need force to change. Sometimes the lightest touch can create the deepest shift, restoring balance, calm, and connection.

Massage isn’t just about feeling good — it’s about helping your body work better.
My latest article explores how clinical massage goes beyond relaxation to support pain relief, movement, and resilience from the inside out.

Read it on Rooted in Wellness: “No, It’s Not Just Relaxation: How Clinical Massage Can Change Your Life.”

Most people think of massage as relaxation — but clinical massage is something deeper. It helps the body restore balance, retrain movement, and find lasting relief through awareness and connection.

If you’ve ever felt tightness that shifts from one area to another, you’ve experienced fascia at work — the connective web that links everything in your body.

My new blog post, “Fascia: The Missing Link in Chronic Pain and Stiffness,” explains what fascia is, how it gets restricted, and how gentle, consistent work helps restore ease and movement.

After years of wanting to create a space to share what I’ve learned about the body, movement, and healing… I finally made the leap.

I’m excited to introduce my new blog, Rooted in Wellness, where I’ll be sharing reflections from the massage table and beyond — about how awareness and small daily choices can make a lasting difference in how we feel and move.

My first post, “Why Deep Doesn’t Have to Hurt,” explores how effective bodywork isn’t about pushing harder, but helping the body feel safe enough to truly release.

If you’ve ever wondered why “no pain, no gain” doesn’t tell the whole story, this one’s for you.

Every body carries tension differently, and how we approach that tension matters.
