Jan is a true Mancos treasure, and so is her art. Throughout her 46-year watercolor career, she has developed a deep connection to the Ancestral Puebloan people, their dwellings, tools, and artifacts. Her paintings reflect that profound appreciation. Hidden within the textures, shadows, and reflections of her desert landscapes, you’ll often discover a spirit being quietly revealed.

TJ Holmes lives in the high desert of Colorado’s undisap­pointing and endlessly fascinating Disappointment Valley with mustangs and other neighbors of the four-legged variety. She documents Spring Creek Basin’s mustangs and acts as birth-control provider (as a BLM volunteer) with the goal of reducing the need for roundups and removals of the wild hors­es that were there first and should be there always. TJ has an incredible eye for photography and we are beyond grateful for her donation of prints from the herd!
