Did you know that NAMI SELA offers counseling services?

We have several outstanding counselors that can be utilized by anyone. One of them is Kami Burgard-Landry who is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 25 years of experience helping adults with trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, and life transitions using EMDR, IFS, and DBT. Medicaid and Medicare are accepted and we offer sliding-scale options to support access to care. Clients may self-refer by calling the main number at 504-896-2345.

UPDATE:

We have great news to share: thanks to your advocacy and congressional champions speaking out yesterday, the Administration told media outlets that they are REVERSING its sudden termination of thousands of grants that fund substance use and mental health care.

This is INCREDIBLE news and it’s all thanks to advocates like you who called on members of Congress to demand this action be reversed.

Unfortunately these cuts will affect NAMI Southeast Louisiana. However, we want to be very clear: we will not reduce the level of care and support we provide to our community.

While we are working toward permanent funding solutions, we remain fully committed to the mission and will continue offering VITAL courses and supports to the people and families who rely on us.

At the same time, we encourage our community to speak up. Congress approved these funds, and elected officials need to hear that mental health services matter and must be protected.

Thank you for being a part of a community that believes mental health care is essential.
