Bow season is officially open in Louisiana, and with rifle season right around the corner, hunters all over are getting back in the woods.

If your back starts acting up after a few hours in the stand, your shoulder hurts when you draw your bow, or your knees ache climbing in and out of the blind, it’s time to get it fixed. Even that hip or neck stiffness from early mornings and long drives to camp can slow you down once the season hits.

With Geaux Mobile Physical Therapy, I come straight to you so you can stay pain-free and ready for the hunt.

🦌 Your hunt shouldn’t hurt.

What is cupping and how does it work?

Cupping is a treatment where special cups are placed on the skin to create suction. This gentle pulling effect increases blood flow, helps reduce muscle tension, and promotes healing in the tissues underneath.

Many people describe it as a deep tissue massage in reverse. Instead of pushing into tight muscles, cupping lifts and separates layers of tissue to encourage better movement and circulation.

It is commonly used to help with back pain, neck tightness, shoulder issues, and even tension headaches. Some patients also find that cupping helps speed up recovery after workouts or injuries.

The circular marks that can show up after cupping are just a sign that blood has been brought to the surface and usually fade within a few days.

Cupping is one of several treatments offered by Geaux Mobile Physical Therapy when it is appropriate for your condition. Every plan of care is personalized to make sure you get what your body needs to heal and move better.

If you are curious about how cupping could help with your specific issue, send me a message and we can talk more about it.

“I’ll wait and see if it goes away…”

That phrase is one I hear all the time — and unfortunately, it’s usually the start of a long road to chronic pain.

Aches and soreness can be completely normal after new or intense activity — especially if you’re doing something your body isn’t used to. But if you’re experiencing lingering pain every day, outside of those situations, it’s time to pay attention.

Even mild daily pain chips away at your quality of life. It adds another stressor to an already hectic world — something that’s always in the back of your mind and keeps you from moving freely and comfortably.

The good news? You don’t have to live with it.

At Geaux Mobile Physical Therapy, I come to you — and often, just one session can reduce your pain and give you a clear plan forward. I’ll also set you up with a customized home exercise program so you can continue making progress on your own and work toward being completely pain-free.

Stop waiting for it to get worse. Let’s get ahead of it together. 💪

🩹What is dry needling, and how can it help you?🩹

Dry needling can be a great option if you're dealing with pain, limited mobility, or muscles that just won’t relax.

Dry needling is a technique used by licensed physical therapists to help reduce pain and improve muscle function. It involves inserting a thin, sterile needle into tight or irritated muscles (AKA trigger points). This helps release tension, improve blood flow, and promote healing.

We can also pair dry needling with electrical stimulation, or "E-stim". This causes the muscle to contract gently, which can improve the effectiveness of treatment by helping the muscle "reset" and return to normal function faster.

And no - it doesn't hurt! Some clients report mild discomfort, but it is commonly followed by relief.

Common conditions that can be treated with dry needling:
✔️Neck and back pain
✔️Headaches and migraines
✔️Sciatica
✔️Shoulder pain or tightness
✔️Knee pain
✔️Plantar fasciitis
✔️Hip pain
✔️Muscle strains and tightness
✔️Tennis or golfer’s elbow

If you are suffering from any of these conditions, or you’re curious about whether dry needling could help you, feel free to reach out with any questions!

🔥❄️ HEAT vs. ICE: Which One Should You Use? ❄️🔥

As a full-time physical therapist, this is one of the most common questions I get — so let’s break it down in a simple way.

🧊 ICE is best for the acute stage of an injury — typically the first 72 hours, and sometimes even up to a week depending on the symptoms.

Why ice?

Helps decrease pain
Reduces inflammation
Controls swelling
If the area is red, swollen, warm, or freshly injured — ice is your go-to.

🔥 HEAT is great after the acute stage — once swelling is down and there’s no more redness or warmth.

Why heat?

Loosens tight muscles and joints
Increases blood flow
Relieves stiffness and lingering pain
If you’re feeling tight, stiff, or achy — heat can help.

⚖️ But here’s the key: It really depends on what your goal is.

➡️ If you’re using it to simply decrease pain, go with whichever one helps you feel better — heat or ice.

➡️ If your goal is to improve mobility or loosen up tight muscles, heat is usually best.

➡️ If you’re treating a new injury or trying to reduce swelling or inflammation after activity, ice is the better choice.

📌 Quick rule of thumb:
New injury = ICE
Tightness/stiffness = HEAT
Pain = Whichever feels best

Still unsure which one’s right for you? Reach out — I’m happy to help!

🚗Meet the Face Behind Geaux Mobile Physical Therapy🚗

Hey y’all! My name is Cameron Badinger, and I’m the owner and physical therapist behind Geaux Mobile Physical Therapy — a concierge PT service that brings expert care straight to your doorstep.

I’m originally from Abita Springs, Louisiana, and a graduate of Fontainebleau High School. I earned my degree in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, then completed physical therapy school at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.

My wife and I are both physical therapists, and for us, it’s more than just a job — it’s a lifestyle. We’re passionate about helping people stay active, independent, and pain-free. We also recently became parents to our five-month-old, which has brought a whole new meaning to life and balance.

I started Geaux Mobile Physical Therapy after realizing that many people simply can’t access the care they need. Whether it’s stay-at-home moms who can’t leave their kids or find a babysitter, business professionals tied up in meetings or working long hours, or those without reliable transportation — traditional clinic settings just don’t work for everyone. Some people prefer being treated in the comfort of their own home, and others just want the right guidance so they can manage their rehab on their own. That’s who I’m here for — because everyone deserves the right to quality care.

When I’m not working, I love being outdoors — whether that’s hunting, fishing, or spending time with my family in the Louisiana woods and water.

Thanks for following along and supporting my journey!
