Trauma isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s the quiet, persistent feeling that you’re not safe, not seen, or not enough.

It doesn’t have to be a single, dramatic event to be valid.
It can be:
-Chronic stress
-Emotional neglect
-Feeling unsafe over time

Your experiences are real.
Your pain is valid.
And healing starts the moment you stop minimizing it.

Sometimes the answer really is as simple as smiling.

Smiling can actually shift your body’s chemistry—boosting mood-enhancing hormones while lowering the ones linked to stress. Even if it feels a little cheesy at first, small physical cues like smiling can help nudge your nervous system back toward calm.

Try it out and let us know if it helped you!

With so many wonderful new faces popping up here on social media, I thought it’d be the perfect time to say hello again and reintroduce myself!

My name is Rohit Aiyer. I’m a Double-Board Certified Psychiatrist who blends Neuroscience and Research to offer distinguished mental health care.

I specialize in Psychopharmacology, Neuropsychiatry, Medication Management and Mood Disorders, specifically Anxiety and Depression.

I’ve published 50+ peer-reviewed journals and am passionate about bringing the latest advances in research to my patients in my clinical practice, Mind and Brain Link.

Outside of the Clinic, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family and watching the Los Angeles Lakers and Dodgers.

I’m excited to be providing mental health care across the Greater Los Angeles area, and encourage you to reach out to me at www.mindandbrainlink.com/contact-faq if you need any additional support.

Chronic pain and depression are rarely separate problems -- they share neural pathways, reinforce one another, and often resist traditional treatment when addressed in isolation.

In Ketamine Korner: Edition 9, we explore the growing evidence that ketamine may help modulate the shared neurobiology underlying both chronic pain and mood disorders, offering a window for integrated, multidisciplinary care.

Grounded in pain and psychiatry research, this edition looks at how central sensitization, neuro-plasticity, and affective distress intersect and what that means for treatment-resistant patients.

Find your .

Bliss isn’t constant happiness. It’s a felt sense of safety, presence, and emotional sufficiency, a moment when your nervous system is regulated, your mind softens, and nothing feels urgently missing.

Step outside your usual routine today. Even briefly. Choose one activity that brings genuine regulation, not distraction, and let yourself fully arrive in it.
