Running a Spartan race is absolutely not something I thought I’d ever do, I’m more of a “smooshy yoga” type of gal. I can honestly say though that pushing myself to my limits in this race was one of the highlights of my summer!! It hurt so good 🤪. I can see why it’s addicting! Afterwards, I felt totally amped to train for the next one (not sure how long that will last but it’s nice when it’s here!)

This weekend my father and I started a new project. We are attempting to write a book together! The first deep dive we did was into POTS and autonomic dysfunction. We chose this topic because it is a beautiful example of how conventional and naturopathic medicine can really compliment each other. He, as a cardiologist, has the most knowledge and technology to assess the condition where natural medicine is actually more effective at treating it. Stay tuned to see how the project evolves.

Join me at on Monday, July 18th at 6:30 for an exploration of breath.

Something I have been learning about recently is how many of the herbal remedies we use today were brought over by West African slaves. To think that these individual brought seeds over, sometimes in their necklaces, so they could provide care NOT only to their fellow slaves but to the families who would enslave them. Yet in the historical texts, the origins of these medicines are often omitted. American herbalism largely rests on their shoulders.

Recently listened to .andreasullivan8 give a lecture on this topic

I honestly haven’t ever been as proud as anyone as my little sister ! It’s hard enough to graduate from nursing school but when you literally miss you winter final because you’re going into labor is a totally different story. And soon she and Adeline are off to cleaveland to work at the Cleveland clinic. So so proud 💛💛💛

This Wednesday at 6:30pm!

I remember giving this two years ago and a man stood up and asked, in a very worried voice, if his ADHD granddaughter would ever get better?
This struck me as such a funny question, because ADHD is not a sickness. I think there are many ways we can support an “ADHD” wired brain so it can be a super power rather than a disability.
When an “ADHD” brain is HEALTHY, these individuals tend to be great visionaries, creatives and problem solvers! When the brain is weighed down with neural inflammation, these individuals can lack traction in their lives, fall behind their peers and have trouble accomplishing their goals.
This is when it’s considered a “disability”

The body is wise, if it has everything it needs to thrive, it will.

Thanks Lancaster! I was floored by this honor.

Before I came to I had worked in 3 other offices, all of them I was primarily on my own. I learned a lot from all of them but I am so grateful to be part of a team at Turnpaugh Health and Wellness. I have learned that good patient care can not be done on your own, you need a team of people to support you so that you can support others.
