In solidarity for peace & community. Always.
✊🏼✌🏼🫶🏼
Since its inception, Divine Echoes has been more than just a place to “buy stuff”. We built this space as a sanctuary for those wishing to uplift their spirit, feed their soul, or commune with others for a sense of connection and mutual well being.
This Friday, many in our town and in our state are participating in an economic strike: No work, no school, no shopping. A collective pause meant to draw attention to systems that continue to harm our most vulnerable neighbors.
After careful consideration, Divine Echoes has chosen to open its doors on Friday. Not because the strike is unimportant, nor are we disconnected from its purpose. We see it, honor it, and respect those participating fully.
We are choosing to remain open because we feel that community care also means presence. Holding a space when fear is high, uncertainty is heavy, and when people need somewhere to exhale without explanation. It means being a safe and welcoming place for those who feel targeted or watched. We consider this to be a big part of our purpose on a daily basis anyway, and we will continue to be so this Friday.
Our door will be open for fellowship, grounding, conversation, quiet, and connection. I would say that there is no pressure or expectation to “buy” anything, but that is our philosophy every day. Yes, bills still need to be paid and obligations fulfilled, but “making money” has never been our primary purpose. If a hundred people come through our door on that day, or any day actually, and no one spends a dime, we would still consider that day successful and our purpose has been met. We simply wish to provide a space rooted in dignity, respect, and care for all bodies and identities, especially those impacted by the current climate.
If you are striking, we honor you.
If you are working, we honor you.
If you are scared, tired, or seeking community, you are welcome here.
This Friday, and every day our door is open.
We remain committed to our community, to marginalized voices, and to being a place where people can feel safe, seen, and supported, today and always.
