The American Psychological Association is deeply concerned about the Administration’s recent announcement on autism.

Promoting unsupported scientific theories risks fueling stigma, undermines public trust and distracts from real scientific progress.

🌱 Navigating Political Change with Mental Health in Mind 🌱

Political shifts can stir up stress, anxiety, and uncertainty. As we face changing times, it's crucial to prioritize our mental health and well-being. Here are a few tips to help you maintain balance:

✨ Stay Informed, But Set Boundaries
Stay connected to the news, but know when it's time to step back. Limit your exposure to negative or overwhelming coverage to avoid burnout.

💬 Talk About It
Engage in open, respectful conversations with friends, family, or a counselor. Sharing your thoughts can ease the emotional load.

🌿 Practice Mindfulness
In times of uncertainty, mindfulness can help you stay grounded. Whether through deep breathing, meditation, or taking a quiet walk, find ways to center yourself.

💪 Focus on What You Can Control
While we can’t change the world overnight, focusing on personal growth, setting boundaries, and taking small actions can empower you during uncertain times.

🤝 Seek Support
If political changes are impacting your mental health, remember it’s okay to ask for help. Whether through therapy, support groups, or personal networks, support is available.

Let’s care for our mental health as we navigate these times together. 💙

September is National Recovery Month. 💜 We observe this to increase public awareness of mental health and addiction recovery. COMMUNITY and CONNECTION are important for anyone, but are essential for those in recovery. One small thing we can do this month is reach out to a friend in recovery and ask them to join us in an activity that is supportive of their recovery! 🎳🎥🍛🏈🏋‍♂️
