Plot twist: the CEO called in sick.
(Plot twist part two: I am the CEO). 🤒

I’ve been MIA for a couple of weeks fighting off a bug! It is a funny thing about building your own business—the work doesn't stop just because you do.

The saving grace? Fjord & Fire is currently in the heavy design and research phase. So while I haven't been out gathering materials, I have been doing a whole lot of dreaming, plotting, and planning from the comfort of my bed. Sometimes a forced pause is exactly what you need to get the vision crystal clear.
Getting my energy back and so excited to share what I've been mapping out for our community's new favorite thaw-out spot. Stay tuned! 🔥🏔️

WOW. Congratulations to the fantastic winners of WomensNet February grant winners!!! 💪

Building a business from the ground up is terrifying! And also an incredible journey. 😊 Part of that journey is putting yourself out there. Recently, we applied for the WomensNet Amber Grant to help fund our trailer and Kuuma wood stove for the sauna build. While Fjord & Fire wasn't selected for February, we are so incredibly inspired by the amazing women who did win! 🎉🔥

As for us, the hustle continues! We are currently locking down our custom trailer and getting ready to start framing. We are so committed to bringing this mobile thermal therapy experience to Lake Chelan, and every step (even the 'no's') gets us closer to our launch. ​I am out looking at what could be the actual foundation for Fjord & Fire! It’s a blank canvas just waiting for some gorgeous Thermory wood, the local shop class, and a whole lot of elbow grease to turn it into Lake Chelan's new favorite thaw-out spot.

We are deep in the planning stages for the Fjord & Fire mobile sauna, and we want your input as we design the perfect experience! 📝🪵 As we finalize the details for our custom unit, we are at a major crossroads deciding on the interior wood.
Option 1: Western Red Cedar 🌲
The classic sauna vibe! It has that incredible, rich aromatic smell, beautiful warm tones, and naturally resists moisture.
Option 2: Aspen 🌿
The smooth, clean look! It stays slightly cooler to the touch, has a gorgeous bright finish, and is completely hypoallergenic with no strong scents or sap.

Nothing beats a weekend on the slopes- we skied Silver Mountain for the first time this weekend! 😎 Waking up today, a Fjord & Fire sauna session and a dip in Lake Chelan sounds like the absolute ultimate muscle recovery. Counting down the days until our mobile unit is built and ready for some proper après-ski! ⛷️🌲 Who else is feeling their weekend workout today?"

It takes a village! 🤝 We are so proud to share that we’re partnering with the Manson High School shop program. Students will have the chance to earn community service hours this summer by helping us craft our custom cedar interior. Building this alongside local makers is what Fjord & Fire is all about. 🔨🎓

Let's get this fire started! 🔥 Fjord & Fire LLC is officially born. After moving to Manson, I fell in love with our year-round lake plunging community, but I realized we were missing one thing: a proper, accessible wood-fired sauna on the shore.

We are on a mission to bring the benefits of contrast therapy to Lake Chelan—subsidizing free community "Public House" sessions through premium private rentals at our local wineries. Follow along as we build this dream from the trailer deck up! 🌲🌊
