"For me the benefits to joining CFMV have been significant & truly life changing. I am stronger, more fit and in overall better general health than I was when I joined 3+ years ago. My overall body composition has also changed dramatically along the way as I have shed body fat & added muscle. While I’m still working towards my ultimate goal I am only about 5 lbs. away at this point. Once I reach that number it will be the lowest weight I’ve been since in I was 28 years old in 2000 when my wife & I got married. I am also carrying more lean muscle now at 45 years old than I did when I was in my 20’s!

I recently went to my doctor for my annual physical. He praised me for whatever I was doing & told me to keep up the good work. All of my measurables were excellent & were markedly better than 3 years ago prior to joining CFMV. In terms of body weight the 20+ year bar graph he showed me was the lowest point in 20+ years. In terms of blood pressure I am perfect & that’s a vast improvement. At my heaviest weight which was roughly 30 lbs. more than I am today I was border line in need of blood pressure medication.

While the training has always been excellent the nutrition piece is the component that has had the biggest impact on me. Thanks to John I now not only have a training plan I also have a nutrition plan. On most days I track everything on My Fitness Pal. I try to stick to a caloric limit & also a macro limit that John tailored for me based on my InBody reading & my overall goal. I’ve found that when I am most disciplined with my nutrition is when I see my optimal body composition. I’ve learned that nutrition truly is 80%-90%+ of the formula & training is really secondary. That was a concept that I didn’t initially buy into.

For the past year I have participated in the nutrition coaching program with John. The biggest takeaway’s for me along the way were realizing that I couldn’t out-train poor nutrition choices. I also have found that I feel the best when I stick to my nutrition programming. I have also learned the importance of knowing what I am putting in my body. Not only in terms of portions but also in terms of focusing on eating more quality protein, vegetables & fruit while limiting processed foods, sugars & starches like pasta. I still occasionally eat those foods but as a general rule I stick to the right foods.

I can honestly say joining CFMV has vastly improved my overall health. It has also helped me to be a better role model for my 11 & 13 year old boys too. They see me when I come home from the gym at 7am & they see the dietary choices that I make on a daily basis. That is powerful because they see what I do I would & how I take care of myself & I believe that makes them want to do the same. I can’t thank John and his team enough for the positive impact they have had on my life.
