The Fundraiser will be held at the Margate Log Cabin on Jerome Avenue in Margate on Sunday, July 28, 2013 from 1 - 5pm. Come out and enjoy a FUN day with family and friends with Children's Activities, Live Music, Food & Silent Auctions while helping a long term resident, husband, father, son, brother and Grandfather stricken at a young age with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Ticket prices $20 pp/Adults (13 yrs +) and $10 pp/Child (under 13 Yrs). Tickets are not tax deductible. We pray for a successful event to help offset the growing expenses due to the necessary treatments and for Harris to beat the Lymphoma. Harris is self-employed, and due to the Cancer is unable to spend full time hours in his Landscaping business, although his son, Matt and regular crew are doing a fantastic job taking care of regular customers! He is also unable to drive his Jitney on a regular schedule due to his health and Chemo treatments. Due to the inability to work his regular schedule, the household income has been dramatically affected which is creating mounting household bills in addition to the massive Medical bills! To have a successful event, we are asking for support for the following:
1. Business sponsors to assist with the expenses.
2. Donated or discounted items for the event; paper goods, decorations, table covers, food, non-alcoholic beverages, etc.
3. Local businesses willing to provide Items/Services or Gift Certificates for the silent auction.
4. Local Musicians, Face Painters, Children Crafters, Clowns, Costumed Characters, Magicians, Caricaturists, Jugglers, Fortune Tellers and other forms of family entertainment willing to donate their time and expertise for such an awesome and much needed fundraiser.
5. Live demonstrations for Kids from their Friends in Safety; Local Fire, Police and EMS. Ideas are Fire truck, Ambulance, K-9 handlers to provide Search and Rescue Demonstrations, etc. to awe local children. Any contributions are not tax deductible. Harris has always been there to help others when needed. He is a very loving, active, caring husband and father of six children and an adorable grandson. He has always worked hard to provide for his large family. Now we need the community, family and friends to assist him and his family in this time of need following such an unexpected life changing diagnosis.
