Dr. Ivo Horak has been practicing Optometry in Atlanta since graduating from New England College of Optometry in Boston in 1996. He has since opened his own Family Optical Practice, Family Eye Care of Marietta, on Windy Hill Road in Smyrna, Georgia. Dr. Horak was born in Slovakia but grew up in Toronto, Canada. He was an alternate for the Canadian Gymnastics team in the 1988 Summer Olympic Games. Most of his free time now is spent with his wife and two young children and out on the court playing high level tennis. Currently Dr. Horak is a member of the Georgia Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association (AOA) and takes a special interest in contact lens fitting, children's (pediatric) eye care, Lasik co-management and primary eye care . Along with 4 other languages, Dr. Horak is fluent in Spanish and his office caters to the Hispanic Community. Family Eye Care of Marietta is a complete eye care center serving Smyrna, Marietta and the Greater Atlanta area. We specialize in comprehensive eye evaluations and diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, as well as contact lenses and eyeglasses. Unlike the large chain operated eye centers who are concerned with quantity over quality, our goal is to offer outstanding service to all of our patients. Our office provides a comfortable and warm atmosphere with a friendly, knowledgeable doctor, highly trained staff and state of the art equipment. Visual impairment can significantly affect a child's ability to learn and develop various skills, including reading, writing, participating in classroom activities, and interacting with their environment. Thank you to Dr. Ivo Horak and Family Eye Care of Marietta for donating gift certificates for an eye exam and a pair of glasses for CFR clients who do not have eye insurance. Dr. Horak is also the official Vision Consultant for the Cobb County School District and works closely with the department to provide proper vision screening protocols for students in Cobb County Georgia. He was an alternate for the Canadian Gymnastics team in the 1988 Summer Olympic Games. Most of his free time now is spent with his wife and two young children and out on the court playing high level tennis. Currently Dr. Horak is a member of the Georgia Optometric Association, American Orthokeratology Association and the American Optometric Association (AOA) and takes a special interest in contact lens fitting, children's (pediatric) eye care, Lasik co-management and primary eye care . Dr. Horak specializes with a distinctintive group of collegues in the treatment and prevention of Myopia by designing specialized molds that are worn at night. When removed in the morning, patients wake up with clear vision and do not need to wear any optical devices during the day.
