Well at least I’m predictable 🤪

Once again I disappeared from instagram because of a major life event.

I am currently with twin girls! 👶🏼👶🏼🤰

That was the SURPRISE of the year! On top of construction in our home I have just been keeping to myself.

But I am excited to start sharing this journey with y’all! There isn’t a lot out there in and I would love to share our story.

And I know how hard this news can be for others who are still waiting for their babies or have recently miscarried or have gone through loss.

My heart truly does go to you. I wish I had shared more about my miscarriages. Fertility and motherhood is a wild bumpy ride, and I want to share more of that.

This week is always hard for me.

Weird emotions always start to pop up- and I wonder where are these coming from?

I look at the date and I realize that somehow it’s that time. In the back of my mind, the loss of my sister starts to creep up. Little things make me sad, or I get angry at something silly.

My body and my mind knows the trauma I lived through before I even realize it.

All that to say- I’m really grateful that I’ve had the accessibility to tools like therapy and yoga that have helped me heal these past 11 years. I’m able to notice what my body is telling me and to listen to what I really need.

It’s also really hard to watch what’s happening in Ukraine. And all I can think about is their pain and suffering and the long road they have ahead of them.

When we found out my sister died in the tsunami in Japan, and after the initial shock, my family wanted to do what she would do- which was to help.

So today in her memory I’m donating to Ukraine because every bit helps when it comes to recovery.

When you lose someone you love- the biggest lesson I’ve learned is the importance of living, because you know they would want you to. So Today I’ll play with my son, watch him eat, and listen to him babble. So incredibly grateful that he is safe in a warm and loving home.

It’s been a fun week with my boy. Mostly making messes. Me learning how to set boundaries. And getting comfortable with his discomfort and displeasure with new boundaries.

This week was fun, but I am so grateful for the help I have (a nanny 2x a week).

Time moves fast with a baby (how is he almost 11 months 😱). When I’m with him everyday I totally lose track of time and tasks. It’s hard to feel on top of anything.

Nothing really enlightening to say. Just here to say I love it and struggle with it but I’m here to ride the wave 🌊

Make sure to fill up your cup first MAMA ☕️

You are worth waking up early for and taking care of yourself. Because when your baby isn’t having a good day- whether they need you a little extra or are sick- they need their mama.

And you need to be ready to be their mama.

Its not easy always being needed. Or hearing others complain about your baby’s hard day.

So how do you show up for your baby?
By taking care of yourself first.

For me that looks like 👉
⏰ waking up early to work out and meditate
🍽 getting in 3 well balanced meals
🧖‍♀️ taking a daily (sometimes quick) shower and doing my skin care routine so I feel refreshed and ready. I’m looking at you products.

It’s not always easy to fit it all in- sometimes it happens during a nap or not at all, but I try.

And there are no regrets. Today baby woke up early- so I held him while I finished my workout (leg day woo). And for the first hour and half I couldn’t put him down. He just wanted to be held. So I went with it and thanked myself for getting up and doing something for myself first. Because it didn’t feel so frustrating having someone need me immediately. By the time I put him down for his first nap- he just wanted to play by himself and was having s great time. Everything is a phase and learning to breathe and be present with the “hard” ones helps them go by.

So MAMA what do you like to do for yourself? Let me know below 👇

This past weekend spending time with my little man on the beach was a dream 🏖

He’s growing so fast and I love watching him explore the world around him.

Everyday we go on a “new adventure” and he loves it.

Slowing down and being with him makes my heart so full ❤️

Lessons from the mat 🧘‍♀️

I get frustrated when I can’t do something well. Sometimes it makes me want to quit.

Do you feel the same way sometimes?

If you feel this way too, here are 3 reminders to keep you going:
✨ there is nothing wrong with trying and possibly failing, that is how you learn and become better
✨it’s ok take a step back, rest, regather yourself and try again
✨ remind yourself of the hard things you’ve accomplished before and let that motivate you to keep going

Tell me: what have you wanted to quit but glad you didn’t 👇

Happy Friday y’all!

Feeling lucky to have spent the last week in Cabo with our little fam and Forrest’s aunt and uncle! We enjoyed the sunshine and a hurricane 😂

Traveling with a baby can seem daunting, but if you never try you’ll never know how it will go 🤷‍♀️ this is our second time flying with baby and it went pretty well!

My biggest tip would be- just roll with it. On travel days he barely napped and wouldn’t fall asleep on the plane until the very end of the flight. But he was happy to be on the floor by our feet rolling around- so we just went with it.

I brought additional black out curtains for his room, his sound machine, and monitor to help keep his sleep consistent. So while baby was snoozing 😴 we could chill by the pool and not worry too much!

It was also a big help to travel with family! Who wanted to play with him and watched him a few nights so we could go on a date!

Vacation with a baby 👶🏼 is just different. You don’t have your usual freedom to go when and where you want- but with some trial and error you figure it out and you make the best of it. We still went to town one day, but after that decided to stick with staying on the resort with baby 😂

We also stayed in a house on a massive resort (found it cheaper in airbnb!) so we would explore different pools and restaurants every day just to change it up.

10/10 would do it again!

9 months out vs 9 months in (let’s be serious it was more like 10 months)
Mental edition

I have been waiting for this moment for so long. You see so many 9 months posts and I couldn’t wait to see where I would be.

I thought by 9 months things would FINALLY begin to feel normal.

Nope

It’s been 9 months of learning grace, letting go, and showing up as my best self every day.

Are there hard days.
Yup
Does it go perfectly everyday.
Nope.

But with every small lesson, I learn something new, and the next day I get to begin again and try again.

It’s probably my favorite part of motherhood. Starting fresh everyday no matter what happened the day before.

I’m letting go of “at x months I’ll feel this…” and embracing the brand new each day brings.

I never thought I would love as much as I do, and I’m grateful for it everyday.

Don’t take a single day for granted.

Every day is a new day.

A new day to begin again. Try again.

Don’t let yesterday hold you back.

Don’t let the fear of tomorrow hold you back.

Take advantage that today is a new day.

Show up and do your best.

Stepping away from something has never felt so good (Keep reading for my new fave way to reduce stress!)

And I’m talking about you Instagram 😂

Deleting the app every weekend will now be my thing.

Being a mom means your brain NEVER stops. It’s on an overdrive I have never had before (which is surprising bc I’m 👸🏼 of overthinking).

Just to give you a snap shot of what goes on behind the scene of being a mom.
You are the only one that can answer the following:
- when is his next nap?
-did he sleep enough?
- if I let him sleep 10 more minutes does that mean he will wake up 10 minutes earlier tomorrow?
-oh crap I need to pump
- did I produce enough milk for his next feed?
- how many ounces will he eat today?
- what in the fridge can I feed him?
- when do I feed him again?
-do I smell p**p?
-has he gotten enough floor time today? Will he ever crawl?

Ok that’s a very SHORT list of what goes on.

All in all, my brain feels like it doesn’t get a break. Mamas we are the #1 caregiver no matter if our partners are angels. It’s just not the same.

Reducing stress has been a priority for me. Because my mind is already going 💯 all the time. When you let your stress run high it can lead to weight gain, poor sleep, and overall foul mood.

My number 1 stress reduction tip for you-
Delete the app
Give yourself some space from the endless scroll.
Take a walk outside instead.
Take 10 deep breaths
Go do something you told yourself you didnt have time to do.
Be present with your loved ones

Tell me! Do you ever delete the app?
