On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was shot while riding in a motorcade through the streets of Dallas, Texas, and he died shortly after the attack. The thirty-fifth president of the United States was just forty-six years old and had been in office for less than three years. During that brief period, Kennedy and his wife, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy, gained immense popularity both at home and abroad.
