The Oaks Nursing and Personal Care Home We are a 60 bed facility, family owned and operated since 1956. We are just 11 miles from Ft.

Valley, 16 miles from Perry, 3 miles from Marshallville, 14 miles from Reynolds, & 10 miles from Montezuma. The skilled facility provides twenty-four hour comprehensive nursing care under the supervision of a licensed physician. Licensed nurses direct the dedicated staff in providing individual care to each resident in order to enhance their quality of life. Years of experience in long-term health care provide The Oaks staff with the ability to meet the unique needs of each individual resident.

Good Morning, friends!

We wanted to start the day by (re)introducing you to our new Director of Nursing, Melissa Wood! Although this is a new role for Melissa, she is no stranger around here! Melissa has been at The Oaks for nearly 20 years!! She has worked as an LPN, RN, Assistant Director of Nursing, and Assistant Administrator in her time here. It was a no-brainer when Kathy Baugh announced her retirement that Melissa Wood would be the perfect fit as our new Director of Nursing!

We thought it would be fun to share some fun facts about Melissa - many of you may not know some of these:
*She has 14 grand children!
*She has a honey bee apiary and has the BEST honey!
*She also has chickens, cats, & dogs.
*She has worked in long term care since 1998 and started her career as a CNA.
*She is the first generation in her family to complete college.
*She loves to golf and fish.

If you see Melissa around, please congratulate her on her new position! She is excited about this new venture, and we are too!

It’s difficult to put into words how thankful we are for Kathy Baugh, our director of nursing. She’s been with us for seven years. She always shows up and gives it her all! We are certainly going to miss Kathy, but we are so excited for this next chapter of her life… RETIREMENT! Today, we all gathered to celebrate her! Kathy’s last official day is tomorrow, so if you see her please congratulate her. Thank you, Kathy, for your dedication to The Oaks! We love you!!

Today was a very special day! We held a pinning ceremony for 21 CNAs! Although not all are pictured and could make it to the ceremony, we recognized each CNA!
