Liz Cravillion

Liz Cravillion I'm a licensed professional counseling intern, working toward my license. Mental and emotional health matter so much to our wholeness as individuals.

I currently practice with The Joyful Mind, LLC, in Marshfield, WI, a fully telehealth practice. If you are someone who struggles with anxiety, people pleasing, perfectionism, depression, grief, lack of boundaries, loneliness, inability to feel your emotions, and a struggle to know what you want or what your identity is, I'm here to help you walk through those challenges. We are not alone. I believe that kindness and respect are the most important facets of relationships and in accepting others, regardless of their beliefs, orientation, or cultural circumstances. I offer a lot of psychoeducation - a fancy way of saying I can teach you about your brain, your emotions, and your relationships. I can help you understand emotions, feel them, and work through them. I want to educate others about how our brains work and how we are wired to relate to each other from our childhood years and how that affects us today. For years I was lonely, anxious, and couldn't say no. It took working with several different therapists to understand what the root of my pain was. Therapy is about working with someone who has learned about the brain and mind and can walk through your challenges with you, helping you achieve your mental health goals and hopes.

I'm finishing my masters degree in mental health counseling and while I'm interning with The Joyful Mind, LLC, I'm offering telehealth counseling sessions for $25 to clients in Wisconsin.

I teach people how brains and relationships work practically, and use emotionally-focused individual therapy to help clients experience emotion in a safe environment. We learn skills to calm anxiety and set boundaries and dig deep to heal parts of us that need nurturing.

I offer a free consultation over video. Please reach out if you're needing mental health support!

Counseling can help.

Right now, I’m taking new clients for $25 a session, telehealth only. Reach out for a free consultation.

I specialize in anxiety, grief, boundaries, and interpersonal relationships and have experience with chronic illness, spiritual deconstruction, ambiguous loss, grief, and parenting young children.

In the past two weeks, I've held two classes on the topic of What is Anxiety, Really? and taught around 100 people about the science behind anxiety and its complexity.

I've had incredible conversations with people about mental health and trauma healing. THIS is breaking the stigma! THIS is how we change the way our society thinks about brain health and emotional well-being. THIS is how individuals are taking the first steps toward healing.

I'm teaching two more this month at the following dates/times/places:
Zion Community Church, Marshfield, on Thursday, November 13, at 6:30pm
Edgar Community Church, Edgar, November 23 at 6:00 pm.

This is a free class, open to the public at both locations.

You are welcome to join me! Let's open this conversation and start to find relief from anxiety.

“One of the hardest things about therapy is gaining the acceptance that emotions are uncomfortable…Emotions all serve a purpose. If we ignore their purpose and only feel the emotion, we tend to get stuck in a never-ending pattern of anxiety, depression, and self-loathing. Distress tolerance skills are a way we can learn to accept some of these not-so-nice feeling emotions and tolerate them a bit longer each time.”

I’m studying neuroscience right now because it’s played a large part in my recovery from spiritual abuse and emotional neglect and I believe it’s vital to helping us reestablish safety in our internal worlds.

Development from infancy to adulthood is a beautiful process of learning that we are worth knowing + being cared for, so that we can depend on that knowledge as we age and become independent, so we can care for ourselves and know when to ask for support.

There are a lot of reasons that process gets interrupted. Counseling can help us retrain our brains to feel safe so we can be regulated and healthy.

“Knowing about the brain empowers you to transform confusion into insight, self-blame into self-compassion.” - Dan Siegel
