I’m Jodi, and Jodi’s Soapbox was born from dealing with my own skin sensitivities during my second pregnancy. The lack of safe, sensitive commercial products on the market left me feeling discouraged and insecure about my skin. In 2010, while preggo with my daughter, every product I tried made me break out with rashes or acne all over my body. So, I began my research to learn how to make my own products suited to my family’s needs. I started by making unscented laundry soap, moved on to lotions, and my interest in skin care products bloomed from there. At first, it was just a hobby. I gave my homemade soaps, lotions and products as gifts to family members around the holidays. I loved researching, learning, and experimenting in my new craft. Plus, the skin benefits for my family were astounding, leading to greater confidence and a more positive outlook on life. When our daughter was diagnosed with Auto-Immune Neutropenia at 9 months old, my 10-year career as a nurse came to an end. Now a homeschooling mom and stay at home wife, I decided to take my craft to the next level to help my husband support our family financially. I am having major surgery this coming Tuesday and have closed my on-line shop til the New Year rings in.
