We had 2 winners for our 10th Anniversary give away. Here is Pup's story. 💕🐾 Thank you Sheila for sharing Pup's story with us.
This is our story of Pup in his own words. We are submitting it for the 10th anniversary give away.
Hello,
My name is Pup and I’m a 13-year-old Jack Russell mix. I’m not really sure how much time I have left. Old age and health issues are creeping up on me. I mean 13 is pretty old in dog years.
I started out living with this one family and they treated me really well but then my dad got sick, and they decided they wouldn’t be able to give me the attention that I needed. They took me to this place called Rescue me Clifford and put me up for adoption. It was really scary and there were several other dogs around which drove me nuts. I missed my family.
On February 10, 2022, this couple (Matt and Sheila) came to see me and another dog. They seemed like a nice couple, but I still wasn’t really sure about them. I thought they were getting ready to leave without either one of us so I ran and jumped in the guy's (Matt's) lap so he would know that I liked them. They looked at each other and said well I guess we are going to take this one. Little did they know that I had two bags full of stuff from my old home to take with me. You see I’m pretty special and I have to have this stuff in my water, so I don’t have doggie breath, lotion for my paws when they get dried out, dental chews to keep my teeth nice and clean, calming treats for when it storms, toys, blanket, and even a snowsuit.
It took me a little while, but I finally got my new mom and dad trained. The dental chew has to be given to me at 7 p.m., at 8 p.m. it’s time for a treat in my kong, and 9 p.m. is bedtime when I can snuggle between mom and dad in their bed. I was so glad when they decided to get rid of the snowsuit and get me a nice winter jacket. You have no clue how hard it is to try to hold it when you have to go p*e while they try to put each leg in that snowsuit. Well, you know when you got to go you got to go.. I love going for rides in the Ranger side x side and in the pickup truck. If we go in the pickup then I pretend dad is my chauffeur and I jump in the back when we stop so he can open the door and let me out just to show everyone who is the boss. Sometimes we go to the ice cream place and I get a pup cup. I am kind of picky on my pup cups. The Big Dipper in Casey makes the best ones with 2 little bones placed on top of the ice cream.
We found out last year that I have diabetes, cushing disease and I can’t see very well at all now. I have to get a shot twice a day which I don’t like but I know I have to have it so if mom and dad forget I start hanging around them and nudging them to let them know we still have to do the shot. The cushing medicine isn’t too bad because it’s just a chewable and it’s really pretty good. I get neck massages and fruit after I get my shot which helps.
As you can tell I have a pretty awesome family that loves me. Of course, since I am so special it is only fitting that when I do pass away, I should have the very best cremation service. which would have to be by none other than Dignity Cremations.
