March is Developmental Disability Awareness Month.

For us at Bridgeway?
It’s not just a month. It’s our everyday life.
It’s early mornings in residential making sure medications are right and routines feel safe.
It’s teaching life skills step by step — even when progress feels slow.
It’s redirecting behaviors with patience instead of punishment.
It’s celebrating the small wins that other people might never notice.

Our homes are just that — homes. Not placements. Not programs. Homes.
We support adults in building independence, learning daily living skills, navigating emotions, and making choices about their own lives. We advocate hard for their rights. We protect their dignity. We show up consistently so they feel safe enough to grow.

Comprehend staff attended the 12th Annual Ridge Winter Conference on 2-20-26. Goldie Williams, Kia Washington, Pattie Massie, Tara Anderson and Kandi Gilkerson learned about the risk Artificial Intelligence poses, teen mental health, and trauma. The keynote speaker was Elizabeth Smart who shared her journey from abduction to empowerment.
