We are very happy to announce the date for our 11th Annual Baby and Child Gala Event. May 7, 2026, Join us for a night all about early childhood, educational sessions and of course... Free Goodies!

This event is designed for expectant parents & parents and caregivers of children ages Birth-5. This event will take place at Maysville Community and Technical College May 7th 5:00PM-8:00PM.

The Foster Grandparent Program of Comprehend, Inc. has volunteers who tutor and mentor students one-on-one in the classrooms at 13 local schools. Foster Grandparents Program Volunteers serve Monday thru Friday, with a minimum of 5 hours a week but can volunteer for up to 40 hours. We know our volunteers are retired, so we allow flexible scheduling. Program Requirements: You need to be 55 years or older; Household income less than $31,920.00 for a 1-person household or $43,280.00 for a 2-person household per year; Willing to volunteer at least 5 hours per week; Pass the required State, Federal and National S*x Offenders Registry Background Check; No Educational Requirements. Benefits: Hourly Stipend (Tax-Free Money); Round-trip mileage reimbursement; Social opportunities for men and women; Monthly Trainings; Paid Holidays and Paid Time Off; Recognition Events. The Foster Grandparent Program has been serving Bracken, Fleming, Lewis, Mason & Robertson Counties in Kentucky for 47 years! The Foster Grandparent Program exists for the dual purpose of engaging person 55 years and older, particularly those with limited incomes, in volunteer service to meet critical community needs; provide a high quality experience that will enrich the lives of the volunteers and to provide supportive, person-to-person services to children with exceptional or special needs.

We are thankful we can volunteer with our local nursing homes as friendly visitors.
On Thursday, 3/26, some of our participants enjoyed spending time at the nursing home assisting residents while playing bingo.

Staff attended the “Rooted to Rise Leadership Summit” today. We are thankful to our community for holding such a beneficial training day for staff in all fields.

ADT enjoys when the Mason County Extension Office comes each month. Today, we learned about bees. The participants enjoyed learning all about bees and especially enjoyed making Chapstick from bees wax. They were able to choose the color and scent for their Chapstick.
