Thank you to Salem Attendance Center’s cheer, dance, and football teams for turning teamwork into something truly meaningful. These students split into multiple groups to create a friendly fundraising competition in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.

They worked together on bake sales, raffles, candy and bracelet sales, face painting, and other creative efforts. All of the efforts were strengthened by the many parents, community members, and local businesses who rallied behind them. Dance Coach Amy Tadlock and Cheer Coach Melissa Pollard, also played an important role in guiding and encouraging these incredible young leaders.

Together, these efforts resulted in a remarkable $7,805.47 donated to the Mississippi Cancer Institute, directly helping patients receiving care within Southwest Health. We are deeply grateful for their dedication and generosity.

Dr. James Nobles has long been someone patients could trust, not just for his medical expertise, but for the way he spoke with them, listened to them, and made them feel genuinely cared for. On November 21, we gathered to celebrate his retirement, and the room was filled with the same warmth he has shared with this community for decades.

His approach to care has always been simple but meaningful: treat people with kindness, meet them where they are, and offer reassurance when they need it most. Those small moments, repeated over years, have made an impact on us all that is hard to put into words.

We are grateful for the professionalism, compassion, and sincerity he brought to Mississippi Women’s OB-GYN and Southwest Health over the years. We send him forward with every good wish for peaceful days, happy moments, and the well-earned rest that comes after a career spent caring for others. Thank you, Dr. Nobles. You will be missed more than you know.

Because of the City of McComb’s incredible generosity combined with Selectwoman Terri Waterman-Baylor’s leadership, $22,000 is now at work providing comfort, care, and strength to patients at the Mississippi Cancer Institute. We’re honored by the continued support of our community and beyond thankful all who contributed to Selectwoman Baylor’s ongoing mission to give back.

Southwest Health and the Mississippi Cancer Institute express our sincere appreciation for this donation that advances our ongoing commitment to providing exceptional care right here, close to home. What a powerful example of what a community can do together.

Our community helped raise $22,000 to support those battling breast cancer and the survivors who continue to inspire us. This contribution was delivered to the Mississippi Cancer Institute, where it will go toward care, support, and hope for patients and their families. We’re grateful to everyone who helped make this possible, and a special thank you to Selectwoman Terri Waterman-Baylor for leading this effort.

National Nurse Practitioner Week reminds us that great healthcare doesn’t happen by chance; it happens because dedicated professionals show up with intention. Our NPs do exactly that. They solve complex problems, elevate patient care, and lead with a quiet confidence that strengthens every part of Southwest Health. Their clarity, compassion, and commitment move our mission forward in ways that often go unseen but are always deeply felt. We express our sincere gratitude to the NPs who think deeper, work smarter, and make exceptional care possible right here, close to home.
