💔 Tonight’s Support Group Is Canceled 💔
Dear Pause to Remember Community,
I want to personally reach out and let you know that I need to cancel tonight’s virtual support group. This is the first time we’ve had to cancel since the group began, and I don’t take that lightly.
Over the past year and a half, I’ve been walking through one of the most emotional and stressful chapters of my life—advocating for my mother as she entered the final stage of a 13-year journey with Alzheimer’s disease.
In late February, everything changed. I became her legal guardian and conservator—stepping into a role I never expected but felt deeply called to accept. The weeks that followed were filled with heartbreak, sacred moments, and hard decisions as I flew back and forth to Maine. Last weekend, my mother passed away peacefully, holding my hand.
I apologize for canceling tonight, but I need to pause. I’m still in the early days of grief and simply don’t have the emotional capacity to hold space in the way this community deserves. My co-host Whitney also has a family commitment tonight and is unable to facilitate in my place.
This group means so much to me—and to all of us. The most honest and respectful thing I can do tonight is honor what I need: to grieve, to rest, to breathe.
If you’re hurting tonight, please reach out in the Facebook group. We’ve all walked through the unthinkable—and yet we keep showing up for each other with tenderness, courage, and compassion.
I’ll be back for next month’s gathering. Until then, please know: I see you. I honor your grief. And I’m so grateful to be walking this path beside you.
Warmly,
Amy 🤍
