Good News! Kasama na rin sa official Best Practice Guidelines ng Diabetes Australia ang Low Carb Diet. Ang tawag nila ay "Therapeutic Carbohydrate Restriction (TCR)"

Ang ganda ng words na ginamit nila: "Pagpapagaling sa Pamamagitan ng Hindi Pagkain ng Carbohydrates". Hindi lang "low carb", kundi "carbohydrate restriction" o hindi pagkain ng carbs.

Para saan daw? Para sa mga may Type 2 Diabetes.

Sa Pilipinas naman, ang mga doctor natin, except ang mga Low Carb Doctors natin, ay nasa denial stage pa. Mga anti Low Carb pa sila. Marami mga active pa sa social media para siraan ang mga nag Low Carb Diet para sa mga taong may diabetes.

Ganyan talaga ang natural na proseso ng pagtanggap ng mga pagbabago. Sa una, ay denial. Kalaunan, "acceptance". Siguro, sa Pilipinas, ang acceptance ay mangyayari sa loob ng 5-10 years.

Kung diabetic ka, wag mo nang hintayin na officially ma recognise ang Low Carb diet sa Pilipinas. Ang LC ay nasa standard of care na sa mga progresibong bansa gaya ng American Diabates Association, Diabetes Australia, Canada, at Europe.

Bawal ang LAHAT ng Asukal (Sugar)

🔹Yan ang una sa lahat kung gusto nating maayos ang mga chronic diseases (diabetes, fatty liver, hypertension, obesity, PCOS, heart disease, kidney disease, etc).

🔹Huwag nang bumili ng kahit na anong asukal: white sugar, brown sugar, palm sugar, agave syrup, honey, maple syrup, cane sugar, organic sugar, coconut sugar, high fructose corn syrup, etc.

🔹Paano ang prutas? Yan ang magandang tanong.

Ang sugar ng prutas ay pareho lang sa common na asukal. Sucrose ang tawag (glucose + fructose). Subalit, mas less concentrated sya kumpara sa mga commercial na asukal na nasa pure form ng sugar. At may mga kasamang nutrients din ang mga prutas gaya ng fiber, Vitamin C, at electrolytes.

🔹Kung metabolically healthy ka naman, ibig sabihin, walang chronic disease at insulin sensitive ka, ok lang ang mga prutas IN MODERATION. Ibig sabihin, ay paminsan minsan lang. Ganyan naman talaga ang pagkain ng prutas in our evolution: seasonal lang sya o paminsan minsan. Kaya, wag madalas at marami. Yan ay mga 10 grams as sugar (2 tsps) o 5 grams as fructose.

Ang tyan kasi ng tao, may enzyme (fructokinase) na pwedeng mag metabolise ng fructose kung 5 grams lang. Kung lumampas na dyan, dere derecho na yan sa liver kung saan gagawing taba.

🔹Subalit, kung metabolically unhealthy ka pa o may chronic disease, WAG na rin muna ang mga prutas (except low carb fruits like avocado, berries and coconut). Later on, kung magaling na, pwede nang i reintroduce slowly ang ibang prutas. And eat fruits in moderation.

Nasa baba ang mga masasamang epekto ng asukal sa tao.

Wag Tayong Maging Carnivore Zealots

Yan ang mga tao na yung halos gawing kulto o relihiyon na ang Carnivore Diet. Hate na hate nila ang mga halaman. Marami raw toxins. Nakaka cancer daw. Marami raw anti nutrients gaya ng lectins, phytates, oxalates, gluten, etc.

Parang vegetables na ang pinakamasama at unhealthy sa balat ng lupa. Wag ganyan.

👉Listen: ANG CARNIVORE DIET AY ELIMINATION DIET

May conditions na best na tanggalin na muna ang pagkain ng halaman. May mga food sensitivities sila, food allergies, FODMAP sensitivity, tapos napunta sa chronic inflammation, leaky gut, auto immune disorders at diseases and gut issues. Marami itong mga gut issues na to: IBD, IBS, SIBO, GERD, LPR, Gastritis, Diverticulitis, Colitis, yeast overgrowth, candida overgrowth, etc.

Sa kanila, it is best to remove ALL plants altogether for the meantime until their symptoms resolve. Dyan pumapasok ang elimination diet ng Carnivore. It is very very effective.

Habang nag Carnivore Diet, magbasa at palakihin ang pagunawa sa ano ba talagang mga halaman ang masama sa ating kalusugan, gaya ng mga seed oils (corn coil, sunflower oil, soyabean oil, canola), ultra processed foods, refined carbs with high Glycemic Index (rice, sugar, starch/wheat flour).

Subalit kung umayos na ang mga sintomas, wala nang pamamaga, hindi na bloated, hindi sumasakit ang tyan, hindi nag acid reflux, wala nang anxiety at panic attacks, then PWEDE NA ULIT na i reintroduce slowly, habang inoobserbahan ang reaksyon ng tyan mo sa bawat kinakain mo ulit, ang pagkain ng mga halaman.

Best plants ay yung mga packed ng antioxidants, polyphenols, soluble fiber, vitamins at minerals like the green, leafy, and cruciferous vegetables, tomato, anti inflammatory herbs and spices (eg. bawang, luya, sibuyas, turmeric, paminta, oregano, etc), cacao, coffee, etc.

👉Very beneficial ang magkaroon ng ibat ibang KULAY sa ating pinggan para sa ating HEALTHY GUT MICROBIOME.

Yes, grabe ang mga health benefits ng Carnivore Diet. Yan din ang pinakasimpleng paraan ng pag Low Carb at Keto Diet. Hindi na magtatanong pa kung pwede ba raw ang brown rice, o prutas. Carnivore Diet is just eating meat, and add some salt.

But:

WE ARE NOT MEANT TO EAT PURE MEAT FOREVER.

Let us not be Carnivore zealots.
