Today, March 25th, is National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day (in the US), a day dedicated to increasing understanding, raising awareness, and supporting individuals and families living with .

While World Cerebral Palsy Day is observed in October, we chose to share today in response to the many questions we’ve received following our recent parent support series, and as we began treating our first child with Cerebral Palsy in February.

In this reel, Dr. Tyler shares how Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy ( ) may support children with Cerebral Palsy by helping improve oxygen delivery to the brain and supporting overall neurological function.

Every child is unique. The first step is a consultation with one of our Certified Hyperbaric Physicians to determine whether HBOT may be appropriate or how it can support their journey.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Osteoradionecrosis of the Jaw (ORN)

Osteoradionecrosis (ORN) of the jaw is a serious condition that can occur after radiation therapy for head and neck cancers. Radiation can damage blood vessels in the jawbone, reducing oxygen and blood supply to the tissue. Over time, this can lead to bone that struggles to heal, becomes exposed, or begins to break down.

At BRHC, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is used as part of the treatment approach for osteoradionecrosis.

During hyperbaric therapy, patients breathe 100% oxygen inside a pressurized chamber. The increased pressure allows oxygen to dissolve more effectively into the bloodstream and reach areas with poor circulation.

For patients with ORN, hyperbaric oxygen can help:
• Increase oxygen delivery to damaged jawbone
• Stimulate the growth of new blood vessels
• Support bone and soft-tissue healing
• Reduce infection risk
• Improve recovery before or after oral surgery

Many patients undergo a series of treatments to help the body rebuild healthier tissue and restore blood supply to the affected area.

🎥 In this video, we show what a hyperbaric treatment session looks like and how this therapy supports healing for patients dealing with osteoradionecrosis of the jaw.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is one of the important tools used to help patients recover and improve quality of life after radiation-related jaw damage.
