People often come to pelvic floor PT for one specific concern (leaking, prolapse, postpartum recovery, painful s*x, or constipation) and are pleasantly surprised to learn just how many other things we can help them with.

Pelvic floor PT isn’t just about one muscle group. The pelvic floor works closely with your core, hips, back, diaphragm, posture, breathing patterns, and nervous system, which means symptoms that seem unrelated are often more connected than you’d think. We’ve helped people improve things like low back + hip pain, tension headaches, scar sensitivity, inability to or**sm, TMJ symptoms, and return-to-exercise goals — even when those weren’t the reason they booked a visit in the first place.

One recent client originally came in for support with hypermobility and prolapse symptoms. During a visit, she noticed our Return to Running flyer in the waiting room and mentioned that while she’s not a “runner,” she’d love to be able to jog with her partner someday. That wasn’t her original goal, but as her strength and confidence improved, it became something she felt ready to work toward (and so now we are)!

This is what “holistic” care looks like (no, it’s not just a crunchy buzzword). It means treating the root cause, not just the surface symptom - and paying attention to what else might be possible for you.

When your body starts feeling stronger and more resilient, your goals tend to grow - we love being part of that! 🩵

When I was little, did I dream about documentation, software, and dealing with a healthcare system that doesn’t actually prioritize health? Not exactly.

I dreamed about helping people.

Yes, running a business is tough sometimes - it can be logistically complex and emotionally heavy. But when I think about it through my younger self’s eyes, she wouldn’t see the stress…she’d just be in awe of how we get to help people every day.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or been extra hard on yourself lately, zoom out and take a look through the eyes of yourself as a kid. What would they say about the life you’ve built?

Thank you to for the beautiful inspiration for this post. Making this was surprisingly emotional in the best way 💛

Boston Pelvic PT has received 50 five-star Google reviews, and we’re really grateful. Writing a review takes time, and for a small local clinic like ours, it makes a big difference.

We also recognize that it takes vulnerability to share about your experience with pelvic health work. It’s not always easy to speak up about this topic, and we don’t take that lightly.

These reviews do more than help BPPT grow…they help other people feel less alone. Your stories show that healing is possible, that help exists, and that pelvic floor physical therapy can be compassionate, collaborative, and life-changing 💛

Thank you!

Stop chugging your water ⚠️

If you’re dealing with urinary urgency or leakage, *how* you drink fluids matters just as much as how much. Chugging large amounts all at once can overwhelm your bladder. Instead, slow, consistent sipping throughout the day helps keep your bladder hydrated and functioning well, *without* triggering urgency.

And just as important: don’t avoid fluids altogether. Dehydration can actually irritate the bladder and make symptoms worse.

Check out our blog post “8 Bladder Habits That Matter for Pelvic Health” for more simple tweaks that can make a big difference in your day to day life.

At BPPT, we talk a lot about the nervous system, because it affects *everything* else, including pelvic floor health.

Stepping away from all our digital gadgets, slowing down, and curling up with a good book is one small way we reset and practice what we teach.

Here’s what our team is reading right now. Any other recommendations?? 📚
