One of the things I love the most about small group/in-person classes are the chats we get to share before, after, or during
sets of exercises. Lately a hot topic at kettlebell has been oral health and the relationship it has to our overall health. Perhaps you have heard the term “Happy Mouth, Happy Body”? It’s legit. The state of inflammation and the bacteria in your mouth directly correlates to your gut health, heart health, brain health, and even indicates diabetes & other diseases like dementia, rheumatoid and autoimmune conditions and even cancer. Your mouth is literally a gateway to systemic wellness (another is your skin,but that’s a post for another day;)). This week, stop & really look at your oral tissue, especially your tongue, don’t ignore bleeding gums any longer and don’t sweep your observations under the rug, get proactive and/or preventive! Lots of great dental practices and research studies out there, also holistic resources on this topic too, my personal-fav is an ancient Indian medicine system called Ayurveda. I challenge you to become some badass gatekeepers!
