I GOT MY KIDNEY TRANSPLANT on June 30, 2023... 2 important reasons is because of my time on the list and the article below:

I got good news yall...😊first allow me to give a little background....so the kidney disease calculation to determine the percentage of kidney function someone has was calculated different with black people than the other races which made it seem like our function was higher in which it put black people at a disadvantage to qualify to get on the transplant list sooner.

EXAMPLE: let say other race has 20% function..they can now apply to get on the transplant list because the rule of thumb is your function has to be 20% or less to apply.

Ok so a black person has 20% function as well but has to multiply 20x1.2...now the function is 24% which delay black people from getting on the transplant list sooner. DISADVANTAGE 🤔

A group of powerful people shined light on what was happening and now the calculation is the same for everybody 😊

The transplant centers now has to go back thru every active black person on the list info and adjust their active date when they were put on the list but need labs to verify it to adjust the date.

Thank GOD that I kept all my lab reports and was able to send mine in for an adjustment. My active listing date was NOV 19, 2019 and now it's OCT 12, 2017...Thank you Lord!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

The transplant center called me for July appt to do labs and said the doctor want to see me.
I think it's just my yearly followup labs. But one thing about it I'll already have this done when they do call me for the transplant.

This is my dialysis machine my life line every day treatment 8 hours daily 7 days a week. I connect myself at bedtime. I started Hemo dialysis (blood) while in the hospital with Covid this pass Jan and started home PD dialysis (solution) this pass March. Continue keeping me in your prayers! Love you all !!

Good morning family and friends. Prayers are needed this morning. I am at the hospital getting ready to have PD catheler surgery so i can do home dialysis. I am still on the kidney transplant list and has been for 3 years. I am still seeking a living donor as well. Thank you for your prayers! God Bless 🙏

UPDATE: My kidney Dr referred me to the Vanderbilt Transplant Center in Nashville, TN to get approved to be put on their transplant list. The in person appt was Tuesday, September 20th. I had to bring one support person with me and my oldest sister Patricia volunteered. Thank you Sis!

The trip was very pleasant and the staff was nice. I left there 25 tubes of blood less than when i arrived, also had a EKG, chest Xray, information session and consultation with the transplant surgeon.

Some tests required by Nashville I already completed at the Memphis Transplant Center and those tests will be forwarded to them. I have been on the transplant list in Memphis just about 3 years come Nov 1st.

When i get approved and put on the Nashville transplant list, I will be on two kidney transplant list. Now its wait and see if Nashville need any additional tests, if they do I can get it done local and have the results sent to them.

We made it back to Memphis the same day. The total drive time was about 7 hours. I had way less blood and my body made sure I was aware of it because of how tired I was. But GOD is Good! Every time i turn around he's making a way! Thank you Jesus! Amen!

I Have not posted for a while, but that doesn't mean the fight is over. As of Today, July 27, I am still in search for a kidney donor to save my life. Please find it in your heart to share this post on your page and ask friends if they can do the same. There has to be a lifesaver out there.

I am in kidney failure. My family and close friend has been ruled ineligible to be kidney donors, so I am looking to the larger public community to help find a living donor to save my life.

Transplant waiting list times for an organ donor can be 5 years or more in Tenneesse which is too long to wait. I need a living kidney donor now.

Important to Note:
• You do not need to be a match to be my kidney donor. If you are healthy and eligible to donate a kidney, your donation can provide me with a voucher that prioritizes me for a kidney donation that is my best match.

• You do not need to come to Memphis to donate a kidney on my behalf. You can be evaluated and donate through any of the National Kidney Registry’s 100 member centers nationwide.

• One healthy kidney can do the work of two, and donors can live a full, healthy life with only one kidney. Kidney transplant surgery is safe with a short hospital stay and relatively quick recovery times.

• There is no financial burden for donors. MY insurance pays for all medical testing, evaluation, and surgery. NKR’s Donor Shield program provides reimbursement for lost wages, travel, and lodging.

• There are supports and protections available for living donors as well as mentoring by someone who has been a living kidney donor. In the unlikely event that a kidney donor needs a kidney transplant in the future, they will be prioritized on the living donor list.

• There is no commitment to learn more.
• All inquiries are held in complete confidence.
