What TO EAT before Surgery.

I have to begin with this: First cut out caffeine, ni****ne and alcohol at the required time. Your surgeon will be specific. Please follow the rules. Alcohol thins your blood, which can be detrimental during surgery. Ni****ne can literally cause tissue death and delayed wound healing.
Okay…..now what to eat! Cleaning up your diet before surgery has a few benefits. You will be more prepared to support healing as your body gets to work repairing itself after surgery. Your will also FEEL better which will help you go into surgery with a better attitude. We all get a little nervous before surgery, however, being able to know we have planned and prepared ahead of time can help.
Whatever diet you follow, make it as healthy as you can. Lean protein, low sodium, healthy fats, leafy greens etc. Cut out the junk. Increase your protein.
And the night before surgery? Avoid dairy and anything spicy. Feeling good is the goal. I also recommend trying out anything new that you plan on having after surgery a few weeks before surgery. I was trying out some new foods to have during my upcoming plastic surgery recovery. I bought a new super clean protein powder that was getting fantastic reviews and after a week of stomach pains I finally realized it was from this protein powder. I don’t know anyone else having this problem after this protein powder. It’s a quality product. My body just doesn’t like it. I am glad I didn’t wait to try it after surgery when I was in recovery mode.
