Extended Side Angle
Soooooo many energy lines in just a single pose. Here are just a few to consider:
Lower Body
The feet DO NOT split the mat apart. Instead the heels draw in toward each other engaging the Adductors. The left leg is fully extended...the left knee caps lifts to tap into the strength of the quads.
Energy draws up from the back foot/heel to the tip of the fingers in one strong connected line of energy.
The right knee COMMITS to stacking over the right heel and tracks in line with the 2nd and 3rd toe on the right foot.
Arms
The left hand on the floor can be lifted to a block or hoover off the floor, but should always be engaged and active. If the left hand fully connects with the floor the energy follows the left heel and draw back which lifts the upper body and create space for the torso to rotate more.
The right shoulder connects with the right knee. It doesn't collapse into the knee as much as it lights engages with the knee to create a synergetic bond.
Upper Body
The torso rotate open to bring the left and right shoulders to stack regardless of hand placement this rotation and stacking is prioritized.
The gaze is up towards the sky in this variation. The eyes lift to draw energy up and discourage collapsing into the lower body.
