Some things don’t need to be changed.
They need to be tamed.
It’s New Year’s Day, and everywhere I look I see resolutions about becoming someone different.
Change your habits.
Change your body.
Change your mindset.
Change yourself.
I don't believe in that because for me, the real work was never about changing.
It was about control.
For decades, control kept me functioning.
If everything was organized, it felt safe.
If something broke, I already had a backup plan (or three).
Control wasn’t a flaw.
It was protection.
In 2025, I finally understood that.
I stopped fighting it.
I stopped judging it.
I made peace with why it existed.
And in that space, balance showed up.
Heading into 2026, my focus is simple:
• I control my own choices
• I show up as who I am
• I let others find their own way
No overhaul.
No reinvention.
Just some fine-tuning that brings more peace and contentment.
It may not look like dramatic growth from the outside.
But inside, it changed everything.
Today, I’m taking a moment to notice what I released in 2025—
not to measure it, but to honor it.
If you’re doing the same, you’re not behind.
You might be right on time.
Happy New Year!
