Mental health day 🤍

It’s okay to slow down. It’s okay to say no. And it’s okay to feel everything.

Running a business across three locations, traveling to teach aesthetics, pushing through my nurse practitioner program, and still showing up as a wife and a mom… it’s a lot.

But I’ve learned to listen to my body. I know when it’s time to pause, reset, and just breathe.

You don’t have to do it all at once. Take the break.

Let’s talk about aspirating while injecting 💉

There’s a lot of debate around this in the aesthetics world, so here’s the real, honest take from a provider standpoint:

Aspiration means pulling back on the syringe before injecting to check for blood—basically trying to make sure you’re not in a vessel.

Sounds simple… but it’s not foolproof.

Why?

👉 Many facial vessels are small and can collapse under pressure
👉 Fillers are thick, making aspiration unreliable or slow
👉 A negative aspiration does NOT guarantee you’re in a safe plane

So while some providers still aspirate as an added step, it should never be your only safety measure.

What actually matters more:

✨ Strong knowledge of facial anatomy, although everyone’s anatomy is different
✨ Using the correct depth and technique
✨ Slow, controlled injections with minimal pressure
✨ Constant movement (instead of bolus dumping in high-risk areas)
✨ Awareness of danger zones and vascular pathways ✨knowledge of the steps to take if an occlusion occurs, and having the tools readily available to dissolve

Bottom line:
Aspiration can and should be part of your technique—but it is not a safety net. Skill, anatomy, and technique will always outweigh a quick pull-back on a syringe.

Your face deserves more than shortcuts as well as an experienced injector. So the next time you think $700 is too much for a syringe of filler, remember this. You are not just paying for product, but knowledge and safety 🙂

First time lip filler ✨

Her biggest concern was lack of volume in the upper lip. Because she was a little nervous (totally normal!), we took a conservative approach and started with half a syringe. We’ll bring her back in two weeks to reassess and finish once the swelling settles.

Let’s talk common concerns 👇
• Bruising & swelling? Yes — completely normal and expected.
• “Bratz doll”/overfilled look? Not here. That comes from too much product, too fast, or poor technique.

My goal is always natural, balanced, and buildable results — especially for first-timers. Slow and steady wins every time 💉💋

For those who don’t know me—here’s a little background:
I’ve been a nurse for 18 years, with a background in emergency medicine and hospice, and I’ve been injecting for the past 5 years. I’m also a national trainer with the American Academy of Facial Aesthetics, where I teach injectables and PDO lifting threads (my specialty 💪). I opened up Omorfo Derma Aesthetics in 2021, with my main location in Chardon and a satellite location in Saint Croix, VI.

On the side, I am a mother of 4 boys and 2 furbabies, a wife, a photographer, and nurse practitioner student.
