Ran into a friend from the gym at the grocery store today. Haven’t seen him in a while.
We got to talking and he mentioned the last time he bench pressed, his shoulders were killing him. I told him he should get them X-rayed and see what’s going on.
He said, “I’d rather not know.”
I told him this: what’s going on is going on whether you know it or not. Knowing just gives you a chance to fix it, or at least work around it, so you don’t cause more damage as you age.
Same concept applies if you’re afraid of the scale while trying to lose weight.
You weigh what you weigh. Not stepping on it doesn’t change that. You’re not fooling anyone, especially yourself.
But knowing?
Knowing gives you fuel.
Knowing gives you direction.
Knowing keeps you accountable and moving forward.
Information isn’t the enemy.
Avoidance is.
Face it. Fix it. Become healthier because of it.
Remember this... Age Better!
