Erin is 11 and it’s her very first time putting in contact lenses! But the real victory? Erin’s mom learned just how important myopia control is for her daughter’s long-term eye health. Slowing down nearsightedness early can greatly reduce the risk of serious eye conditions later in life.

As the upcoming solar eclipse begins shortly after 12:30pm for our area, we want to remind you of the importance of protecting your eyes. 🕶️

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐬𝐞?
Staring at the sun can cause solar retinopathy, damaging the retina’s light-sensitive cells. This can lead to permanent loss of vision.

𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐬:
✅Use eclipse glasses or handheld solar viewers that meet the ISO 12312-2 international standard.
✅Do NOT use regular sunglasses, no matter how dark they are.
✅Supervise children using solar viewers.
