There’s a big difference between a “compression recovery boot” and a true pneumatic compression pump… and a lot of women don’t realize it until they’ve already spent the money.
Both of them use air, inflate and squeeze the legs. But they are not designed for the same purpose inside the body.
Recovery boots are built for athletes.
They focus on muscle recovery, soreness, and circulation after workouts. The compression is often faster, more uniform, and not always structured around how the lymphatic system actually moves fluid.
A pneumatic compression pump is different.
It’s designed to support the movement of lymph fluid, which relies on directional flow, pressure gradients, and sequencing that follows the pathways of the lymphatic system.
That means:
➺ The pressure is applied in a more controlled, wave like pattern.
➺ The chambers inflate in a specific sequence to encourage upward flow.
The goal is fluid movement, not just muscle recovery
➺ This is why some women feel temporary relief with recovery boots, but don’t see the same long term changes in swelling, heaviness, or tissue pressure.
It’s not that one is “bad” and one is “good.”
They’re just built for different systems.
And when you’re dealing with lipedema, fluid, protein buildup, and pressure inside the tissues, the goal isn’t just to squeeze the legs, it’s to actually move the fluid.
The more you know the better you heal! 😉 ❤️
