I’m still at the comeback phase where my long runs thankfully don’t feel that long 🙃 increasing by a tiny bit every week so I can avoid the dread. Swipe to see a glimpse of my running life today!

What’s your go-to pre-long run fuel right now?

I don’t think I’ll go another day without a joint care supplement 🙅🏻‍♀️ I’ve dealt with lower back issues for over a decade and more recently some knee pain, so protecting and strengthening my joints is a must. RegeniCARE Ultimate Joint Care Formula is my newest go-to, since it not only has glucosamine, MSM, and chondroitin that all are staples for joint health, but also Univestin, which has been clinically shown to help reduce joint stiffness and pain 🙌🏼 They come in an easy to mix stick pack you can take anywhere. It’s now a part of my post-run routine 🏃🏻‍♀️ The link to shop is in my bio

Breaking down my post-race return-to-running plan I’ve been following for ya 🤓 I started with a bit lower mileage than I usually do after taking a full week off (~40% of my peak weak) and have gradually increased to about 65% in 4 weeks. Keeping a 6 days/wk schedule, here’s what I did (all time-based):

Week 1: 30-40-50-30-60-30 mins
Week 2: 40-50-60-40-70-40
Week 3: 45-55-65-45-80-45
Week 4: 50-65-50-45-90-45

↪️ 4 easy days, 1 speed day, and one long run with some pace work

The last slide shows my latest full week (42mi), and I’ll bump this up to about 50-55 miles before I leave on vacation next month. The plan is to run at least 4 days per week when I’m traveling [hopefully🤞🏼]

How many days per week do you run during your “off” seasons?

no absolutes over here 🙅🏻‍♀️ keeping my life flexible and NOT following any strict rules has actually helped me be a better runner. The key to success, imo, is to stay disciplined and not stress the small things. A weekend of champagne and burgers is not going to break your progress. Heck almost every weekend is like this for me, and I still see results 🤠

Stay consistent with your workouts, but don’t forget to have fun, too 💃🏻

I call myself a year round athlete 🏋🏻‍♀️ When I’m not training for a race, my “off season” is actually still an “on” season for me. It’s when I lift heavier weights and work on improving speed—it’s really when PRs brew! The holidays can make it tough to stick to a schedule, so I try to do my best by squeezing in my workouts first thing in the morning before any festivities start, balance my indulgences by having a nutrient filled breakfast every morning, and prioritizing recovery 😌OmegaXL Sport has been a daily staple almost all year and it’s truly made a huge difference in my soreness levels and joint stiffness. I recover from tough workouts so much faster 🙌🏼 It’s my number 1 supplement I always recommend —linked in my bio!

creeping my way back up the long run ladder🏃🏻‍♀️‍➡️ thankfully these won’t need to be dreadfully long for a few months. I’m in an “off season” right now, but it’s not really because I kinda want to crush a couple of half marathons early next year. I also signed up for the turkey trot that’s in a couple of weeks, and not that I feel in any great shape at all, but I’d like to run a fast one 😬

In the meantime I’ll be cruising my way back to around 50ish mpw and hang around there for a bit.

Anyone else doing the turkey trot this year?!
