I can’t sit still during meditation. My mind is too easily distracted. Meditation isn’t for me because I can’t clear my mind.

These were all things I used to say and also the reason I am so passionate about sharing this practice.

Breath practices were what opened the door to being able to train my mind and feel it becoming more still and these days, we all need to breathe a little better in order to boost our immune system anyway.

If you think you are hopeless when it comes to meditation, I invite you to join my virtual or live classes!

Lessons on impermanence by the beautiful and sweetest puppy, Khaleesha. 💓 This morning I messaged my friend that gave me the beautiful handmade Tibetan journal in the next picture to thank them since I’ve really enjoyed filling it with my dreams and insights. I came home a few hours later to find the beautiful journal ripped to shreds, last picture. The first thought that popped into my mind after I felt a slight discomfort in my chest was aniccaaaa (impermanence) Thank you, Goenka. 💓

Impermanence. It is the one constant in life. Acknowledging this and contemplating on it helps us free ourselves from the suffering that comes from our attachments.

Best of all, contemplating on impermanence helps us live our lives more fully. Who needs to hear/see how much you really care for them? What dreams do you have that you keep putting on pause, waiting for the perfect moment? Are you holding unnecessary resentment that is holding you back from embracing your loved ones more fully?

Life is short. Call that relative/friend/loved one. Start embracing your dreams.

Thank you, Khaleesha for this sweet reminder today. 💓✨

It’s not about perfection, it’s about cultivating SUSTAINABLE habits.

New blog post (only a 2 min read) up at the link in my bio that was inspired by my very imperfect/slow runs and has some practical tools to help you commit to a sustainable meditation practice. :)

“As humans, we strongly dislike failure. If we cut our mindfulness practice short because we could not sit still or we spent the entire practice wrapped up in our thoughts, it does not mean we are not good at meditation.

The nature of our mind is to have thoughts. We tend to avoid practicing if we have a misguided notion that as soon as we sit, we will feel peaceful.

A successful mindfulness meditation practice is NOT one where we are able to completely clear our mind and we do NOT need to have a completely quiet space to practice meditation. I can't recall how many times my practice has involved several pets rubbing their noses against my arm so that I pet them or the times I've practiced in my car to help me find peace and quiet.

It is not our circumstances that allow us to meditate, it is what we choose to do with our attention throughout our day.”

If you know you’d like to recommit to your mindfulness practice and know you would like the support of community, join me on Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30am for the month of January! Details in previous post.

What is your favorite thing you cultivated/practiced this year? I’m wrapping up this year grateful for the cultivation of the practice of or loving kindness meditation. Learning to invite all experiences to be there, welcomed, and alchemized be the power of unconditional friendliness. Honoring each of my inner experiences as the teachers they are.

I feel like the luckiest yoga teacher in Miami. I have the privilege of leading yogis/nature lovers/friends through a breath centered movement practice in this beautiful space.

I’m inspired once I step foot in this space, but now that I’ve been leading classes here for almost 3 years, I’ve become just as inspired by those who attend the class.

To all that joined me in person and virtually today and throughout the last few years, THANK YOU. Our shared love of the garden and this nourishing practice truly fills my heart with so much joy.

Thank you for making the last class of 2020 so spectacular. ❤️

The busier we are, the harder it is to sit still and train the mind and practice stillness. In that case, incorporate small moments of mindfulness throughout your day where you let go of the planning/imagining/thinking and find yourself in the present.

Pay close attention to your next 5 exhales.

Observe yourself relaxing any obvious tension in your neck/jaw/eyes/palms/abdomen with the warmth of your exhales.

Now try that 3 more times throughout your day and you’ll notice you will be able to enjoy more of your day and feel more resilient to stress.
