As a classically trained pianist since the age of four, I have been conditioned for precision, repetition and control musically… but never improvisation. I have always been scared to fiddle and jam with others because of “messing up” and I was never given that freedom musically growing up.
Around 9 years old, I nagged my parents for a drum set and so I got one. Beat the crap out of it and it fell apart. They also learned that they didnt want to hear me play the drums. Not gonna blame them. Thus for years the seed was there to try again. So at 44 years old, I bought a drumset from my friend who was so gracious as to bring it to my house. It sat in the garage for several months and finally (with some pressure from the goobers ) I moved it into the house while he was out of town. 🤪 I started playing around and had my first lesson with my dear friend Jason from but knew I needed a full time teacher. With a little help from , I had the amazing blessing of meeting the legendary who is now my drum teacher for over a year. Soooo grateful. 🥰 I ended up buying one of his DW drum sets (seen here in the video) soooo I am selling my old one. Honestly, I just want it to go to someone who really wants to learn and have fun! 🤩
Whether it’s drumming or something else, here’s a little nudge to start something you’ve always wanted to do.
