You don’t have to give it all up! Fish like other protein-rich foods have nutrients that are beneficial for mother and baby. If you’re pregnant, it is perfectly safe to eat 2 to 3 servings a week of the fish in the “best choices” list or 1 serving a week from the “good choices” list. During pregnancy, always avoid fish high in mercury as well as undercooked or raw fish as it increases the risks of exposure to certain types of bacteria during pregnancy and is more likely to contain bacteria and parasites. If you have any questions on what you can eat and shouldn’t eat during pregnancy or any other questions about your pregnancy please reach out to us @ 786-667-7177.
