Sooooo, this week moving into this summer is one of those times that astrologers talk about for years in advance. We've got some MAJOR collective shifts occuring, but I'm not just gonna talk about it, we're gonna do something about it - it is Aries season after all ;)

It's Eclipse season, retrogrades galore, once in a lifetime transits such as Neptune moving into Aries and all of these shifts are happening in tandem. How it will effect you personally depends on well, you. But the general vibe of it? - in a teeny tiny nutshell, SURRENDERING TO THIS NEW YOU (you know exactly what I'm talking about - this most authentically expressed version of yourself that has been "gestating, dying, cocooning, rebirthing, transforming, repeat" over the last few years) and is ready to bust wide open. The you that has experienced profound loss but also knows that something wildly new is on the horizon and that newness requires COURAGE coupled with DEVOTION...

If you're new here and are like, "What is this Community Prayer Circle you speak of and what exactly are we doing?"

Welp, we're gonna do a bit of meditation, breath work and nervous system thangs to get our energetic bodies glowed up and then you add words out loud or silently aka "prayer" (however and whatever you individually see fit) in order to open up a conversation with Divine and direct/move the energy.

You do not have to share if you do not feel called to do so. If you want to sit in silence throughout the session that is perfectly fine.

It'll be a $10 suggested donation but absolutely no one will be turned away.

Felt cute, decided to share a piece of poem.
Also, in honor of Venus's official retrograde today...

For anyone who has ever been in love, been loved, thought they were in love, lost love or realized they loved the idea of love more than the reality of anything or anyone standing right in front of them.

Here's an excerpt from a piece titled "Unrequited"

"...Evading the embers of your campsite.
You, here, sitting crouched over in the cold with some pot of something bitter, something to keep your body warm when the night splits sharp with loneliness and awe.
You, a Milky Way and a hollow chest and that's just the way you like it.
I reflect.
Distorted light. Deceptive monks.
Full of truth and distraction.

COMMUNITY PRAYER CIRCLE is back!

Wednesday, March 5th, 7:30pm EST

If you're new here and are like, "What is this Community Prayer Circle you speak of?"

Prayer is a lot of things to a lot of people - this space is dedicated to practicing, cultivating, empowering your expression, connection, conversation, communication & manifestation with Divine, God, your higher Self, benevolent ancestors, etc. - however that looks for you, i.e., spoken prayer, journaling, movement, singing, etc.

Prayer requests are ABSOLUTELY welcomed and encouraged

You do not have to share if you do not feel called to do so. If you want to sit in silence throughout the session that is perfectly fine.

If you are feeling in need of support from the group, you are welcome to provide context as to what you are moving through but please be mindful that this is NOT a space for purely venting, this is not a therapy circle. It is intended as a space for us individually and communally to engage in conversation between ourselves and Divine. BUT, again, prayer requests are wholly welcome and absolutely encouraged!!! (Even if you can't make it to the session) ;) 

It'll be a $10 suggested donation but absolutely no one will be turned away.

Sooooo...

I am starting a monthly
COMMUNITY PRAYER CIRCLE
and we begin
Next Wednesday, February 5th, 7:30pm EST

I will spare you all the reasons of how and why I arrived here but in a nutshell:

My spiritual practice has literally saved my life over and over and over again.

And prayer has been A HUGE part of that practice. Now when I say prayer, how I approach it may be a bit different than the prevailing norm. What I've found is that it is a whole mind, body, spirit kinda thing. A whole ass superpower, and a fundamental step in creation that flourishes and is cultivated from within. It's a wild gift, it's more than just self-soothing, it's talking to my best friend, feeling my whole family in massive embrace, and letting my body and heart sing and dance in poetry, all at once. It is a form of fierce empowerment, a healing salve on my deepest wounds and it lets me live my wildest dreams in communion right here, right now.

So with all that being said, I'd like to do this wildly autonomous yet communally empowering thing with you.

I'd like to pray with you.

I'd like to hear you voice your heart's desire. I'd like to hear your voice and fan that flame and do so in Divine reverence.

I haven't shared on here in a while but I felt called to express this nugget that just personally spoke to me:

First off, blessed New Moon, New Year, Solstice and beyond.

With that being said, many folks will speak about the Capricorn energy/archetype and reference, work, finances, work, goals, career, etc. And it is often painted as primarily an earth bound and pragmatic energy. And yes all of that is relevant - but that framework and framework alone is lacking.

Everything and everyone in essence is "divine". Capricorn as an archetype has much to do with elders, ancestry, lineage and legacy. All of which can mean many different things and look many different ways to us all.

So if it resonates for you I pose the question to perhaps contemplate this new moon is how do I want to show up for myself, my legacy, my ancestors and my lineage. How do I want to embody an ancestor or an elder when it is "time." How do I want to have lived, have left and loved and how can I nurture those seeds through actionable steps now. Or just one single step, right this second.

The answer can be simple. Some may already have this idea in mind, some may need to surrender to the strategy and let the answer come. Perhaps invite your ancestors to join you in the quest, in this contemplation and may you be successful and fruitful on your journey and arrival to Now.

Reflecting on - this small but extremely mighty event myself and created a couple years back. We did so with the intention of it being something healing and transformative for ourselves, our ancestors and our community. (Sooooo much in life shifted in rapid fire motion immediately following and I'm pretty sure our intentional magical juju had something to do with it) 🤗💖.

Basically we wanted to create a space where joy, healing and celebration could all coincide through these really powerful gifts we were blessed to inherit from our families and lineages - dance and music. Like even through the pain or trials and tribulations of life - we continually have music as our medicine and we're so incredibly grateful for that. We've both literally dedicated our lives to it. We also wanted to honor the creators of these genres, and invite attendees into a space dedicated to celebrating their own families, ancestors, loved ones crossed over and beyond. All while holding an incredible amount of love and gratitude for being able to access our bodies, this music, this vibe and one another.

To this day I have never received (nor felt) more gratitude to or from folks for any event I have ever been a part of (and once upon a time hosting, promoting, organizing events was a big part of my life.) As life continues churning and lessons are continually learned I can only hope to create more spaces where joy and healing can be expressed with such reverance, love and intentionality.

RIP to all of our loved ones on the other side. Thank you so much for continuing to dance with us. 💖🫂🤗🥂

I got to do something reeeeeeally beautiful and exceptionally joyous with these magical babies a few weeks ago and all summer long. For my residency this summer with and in partnership with the City of Miam Parks Dept. I was tasked with creating a performance piece in line with the summer's theme - Carnivals and Festivals from around the world. The park I was assigned to so very synchronistically had chosen Dia de los Mu***os. (If you know me you know).

We spoke about the importance of honoring our ancestors, how it is possible to feel sadness, grief, joy, love and then some all simultaneously, how we too will one day become ancestors and what that means to us, why that matters, etc.

And then, we danced! We took all these feelings and expressions and put them into story and form through one of our most magical and healing tools for our spirits - the vessel closest to home - our bodies. With of course some color and flair to bring it all to life 🤗🎉 (big shout-out to Ms. Elizabeth at Morningside for her visual magic sprinkles ✨✨✨).

Refilling Your Cup: A Mindful Moment for Restoration & Self-Sustainability

This will be a meditative space and restorative practice to cultivate self-sustainability. Our super power is our sensitivity! As healing artists we pour out from ourselves to connect and inspire. Not to mention, the energy we put into our creations and classrooms is often quite reflective of our inner sanctum. These gifts require a special type of care in order to remain centered and create sustainably. Mindfulness and gentle movement can be powerful allies in one's creative practice. So, this workshop is more so a moment for YOU, the artist, the teacher, the facilitator; a moment of pause and breath so you can continue to serve from a bountiful cup.
