Our Story

The Standard is a limited liability company that provides CPR, First Aid, AED, Lifeguarding, and Administering Emergency Oxygen classes to the general public and to other businesses. The company was founded in April of 2018 by Jason Maldonado with one purpose: To save lives by creating more lifesavers in our society through teaching.

Jason Maldonado has served in the Aquatics industry for +5 years gaining experience in everything from lifeguarding, to leading youth outreach programs as a swim instructor, to operations management, and everything in between. He’s represented prestigious organizations such as the US Navy, ACAC, and currently the YMCA. Aside from his previously mentioned Aquatics experience, Jason is also a military veteran that served in Operations. While stationed overseas, he earned his second-class swim qualification, and was assigned as a backup search & rescue swimmer. He currently holds 10 active licenses in Health & Safety and in Aquatics, and has built relationships with critical personnel in these fields that stretch far and wide.

The Standard has longer term goals of establishing partnerships with education systems, parks & rec centers, health & wellness centers, and military installations across the US.
