At Virginia Surgical Hair Center, we have partnered with a group of doctors who have more than 25 years of experience in the hair industry. Many are even members of the distinguished International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. Our doctors' specialties include dermatology, internal medicine, family practice, and plastic surgery. This allows us to help determine the reason for your hair loss, whether it was induced by medical issues or it was hereditary. From there, they may use our extensive training to determine if your donor hair is sufficient enough for a successful procedure. Our hope is to meet your expectations, and part of that is working one-on-one with a trained doctor from our staff.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a non-surgical method of restoring hair with your body’s own growth factors. The blood that is drawn in this procedure is placed in the centrifuge pictured above, which then projects a high yield of Platelet Rich Plasma. After being numbed, small injections of the Platelet Rich Plasma are made all around the scalp. The plasma is composed of white blood cells, natural DHT blocking properties, and growth factors. These all help stimulate the activity of the hair follicles and promote new hair growth. Once the injections have been made, we then follow with micro-needling the scalp. Micro-needling builds collagen, which in turn helps thicken the hair shaft and strengthen your existing hair. This procedure only takes 1-1 1/2 hours and you can resume normal activity afterwards.
