🚨 MEASLES CASE CONFIRMED IN CONNECTICUT 🚨
The CT Department of Public Health has reported the first confirmed measles case in Connecticut since 2021—an unvaccinated child from Fairfield County who had recently traveled internationally.

Measles is highly contagious, spreading easily through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. 9 out of 10 unvaccinated people exposed to measles will become infected. Symptoms typically begin 7–14 days after exposure and include fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and a rash that spreads from head to toe.

🛡️ The best protection is the MMR vaccine.
Two doses are 97% effective at preventing measles, and the CDC, CT DPH, and the American Academy of Pediatrics strongly recommend vaccination.

📍 Milford Health Department offers MMR vaccinations!
