After much reflection, I’ve made the decision to dissolve Embrace Family Recovery LLC and close this chapter of my professional life.
For more than three decades, I’ve had the profound privilege of working with individuals living with the disease of addiction and, just as importantly, with their families. This work has shaped me in ways I can hardly put into words. It has been sacred, humbling, and deeply meaningful.
I am incredibly grateful to the mentors who guided me, the colleagues who stood beside me, the teachers who expanded my thinking, and the clients and families who trusted me with their stories. I would truly love to name each and every one of you — however, I fear I would forget someone. Please know that if you were part of this journey in any way, you have my heartfelt gratitude.
A massive shout-out to my family for their continuous love and support — for the time, energy, and heart I poured into building this work. Your patience, encouragement, and belief in me made Embrace Family Recovery LLC possible. I could not have done this without you.
I do want to offer a special shout-out to Dede Armstrong, my colleague in hosting EFR trainings, building community family programs, and co-creating Women’s Recovery Retreats. What a team we have made. I am so grateful for all you have brought to my life — through our dynamic work and our fabulous friendship.
The Embrace Family Recovery Podcast was truly my service project. Each guest offered so much to the world through their courage and vulnerability in sharing their experience, strength, and hope. I will be leaving the podcast available as an ongoing resource for anyone who loves someone living with the disease of addiction. You can find it on any podcast streaming platform.
Through Embrace Family Recovery, I was able to advocate for families, educate communities about addiction as a family disease, and create spaces where healing and understanding could begin. I leave this chapter with pride in what we built and in the lives I was honored to walk alongside.
While I am entering what I’m calling my “creative era,” my commitment to supporting families affected by addiction remains. I will always be willing to share what I’ve learned, to teach about the impact of this family disease, and to advocate for expanded services and meaningful support for families.
As I ended each podcast, I will end this post the same way:
Take care of you.
