Pauline was my midwife for my 4th child, and I wish I had met her for my first. She is truly one of the most compassionate women I have ever met. I never felt forgotten or unheard during the whole pregnancy. Her energy felt like that of a nurturing and WISE mother (something I have always wanted to experience in pregnancy and birth) And one of the things that truly stood out to me was how she included my husband on the journey, by always asking him how he was feeling about things or asking if he had any questions at our visits. She cherished my whole family and took us under her wing.
I chose her for her level of experience and the values that she holds. She is a woman that walks her talk. My experience with Pauline has contributed to me having my most empowering birth yet. I’m so grateful she arrived when she did!

What a beautiful winter sunrise! I love early morning quiet time….. the freshness of a new day filled with the wonder of new possibilities and all the love the new day will bring.
Sending much love and prayers of blessings to all the mamas this morning….keep your eyes on the present moment and the wonder it carries…. The morning quiet, your steamy warm cup of coffee, the morning snuggles…..tomorrow will take care of itself so soak in the awe and wonder if what is happening now. ❤️

My heart is so full of gratitude after sneaking out in the middle of the crisp, starry night to be with a sweet mama while she brings her baby earth side into her arms. This work is much deeper than clinical skills, it is deeply spiritual and profound and I am honored to be called to the art and heart of midwifery at such a time as this.
Midwife---it means with woman---since the beginning midwives have been "with" women throughout life's transitions, birth being one of them. Midwives were considered the "mother's" in the community. The older and wiser woman that was called on for all things going on in life. They were spiritual guides, quiet listeners, facilitators of new beginnings, bringing calm and safety in crisis, protectors of normal and of the holy space, supporters in the beginning of life and end of life helping others to find meaning and peace, co laborer with God, encourager and nurturer, mentoring by example with love and so much more....

This is what it is to be WITH women.....vulnerable, raw, open and humble and really present with them and their families. Birth is not something that is happening to us as women but it is a profound journey that women have the honor of going on with God, where they transcend into a spiritual realm that words cannot describe. This is the sacred and holy place of birth.

Many people don’t know that i have been a cake decorator most of my life. I had the joy of making this cake and cupcakes for 2 sweet mamas and joining other amazing friends in celebrating them and their baby girls! It was a beautiful evening. I love my calling as a woman and midwife!

I came across this memory!
This is my oldest…born in a little birth center with a kind and loving midwife when I was a young single mom….he will be 40 soon but it seems like yesterday ….she provided a non judgmental atmosphere of safety and calm that impacted my life in ways I am still discovering to this day.

It is an honor to do this work and bring positive change to peoples lives through midwifery care.. Love and kindness go a long way to help others discover who they are and what their calling is.
