In honor of world hypertension day that was last week, we held a screening in one of the health centers where we work! A bonus that we were also able to identify Rheumatic Heart Disease !

Congratulations! Dr. Julie received her DNP today! I know the patients of Rwanda were her inspiration and kept her going. She used the Rwanda Nurses Saving Lives, Prevention for RHD Rotary Project as her dissertation work. Mama Julie, all of Team Heart salutes you!

Congratulations to Georges Gasana, officially completing General Surgery at Tenwek and passing both oral and written boards. A long time Team Heart volunteer and soon to begin Cardiac Surgical Training at Tenwek. It is a long journey and hardwork!

It is GivingTuesday! Please consider a donation to support our work to empower nurses with knowledge and skills for early diagnosis and medical management where there is a lack of specialized care in the rural communities. When heart disease needing intervention is identified early, and transferred for surgical care at the appropriate time, the whole country benefits.
